"Once again Alan and his team did a magnificent job! This time they remodeled our Master bathroom. I am so pleased with how it turned out! They are such a pleasure to work with. They are punctual and timely! I had worked with them 3 years ago and they remodeled the kitchen! I was happy with the results , so I used them again."

"Looked around at several cabinet builders for the remodel I was doing for my kitchen. A few things stood out in the whole process The initial price was in line with other builders but what stood out was he uses plywood boxes not higher grade particle. My walls were just studs. When the cabinets were installed it was a great fit which was a relief due to all the moving parts. He understood what I was asking made suggestions without being pushy. I am pleased with his suggestions and think it looks great. The install seemed to go pretty smoothly, the crew showed care to maintain quality. The cabinets turned out well, fit well. The sink fit perfectly into cabinet. Love the soft close drawers and doors. I will use them again for the master bath and closet when it's time for that. I highly recommend them."

"Splash had done a great job on our kitchen so we had them do the baths as well. Both baths were total redo and turned out great. Had an issue with 1 sub-contractor but Rene handled it quickly with another sub and it was all done to our satisfaction. Both baths and out kitchen look great"

"Haim Gamaliel with G&H Construction was great to work with on the complete remodeling of my boyhood home in Dallas. Even though I now live 2,000 miles away, Haim kept me informed daily with phone calls, videos and photographs of the work he and his crew were doing. I only wish I had another home in Dallas so I could hire him again! Tim Bullard"

"We had 5 different companies come out and bid the job. Carlos was by far the most professional, we felt comfortable with him even before we saw his bid. He asked questions, had input and ideas that helped keep us from making some bad decisions. This is a family operation and we got to know his sons and felt comfortable with them as the job progressed. Our house is old, built in 1932 and moved to the current location about 20 years ago the owners did a lot of the work themselves. It was apparent after the siding came off, their skill might have been lacking. Even through all the unseen extras and some rotted wood hidden behind the siding, “add-ons” were minimal. We have asked Empire to give us a bid on remodeling our master bath......not sure what’s a better testimonial, a referral or a return customer. Either way, I was very impressed!"

"Yossi and his team did a great job on our bathroom remodel. We needed the bathroom at my parents' home to be made handicap accessible. Yossi widened both the bathroom and closet doors, installed a new toilet and even came up with a plan to fix the floor since there was no matching carpet or tile to use. Everyone was extremely professional and helpful. They were able to get our project scheduled quickly and completed right on schedule. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again in the future."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

Whether converting a tub to a shower is worth it depends on your personal circumstances and priorities. For many, a shower is a safer option that reduces the risk of slip-and-fall accidents, making it a valuable upgrade. It can also be a worthwhile conversion if a shower is more practical for your lifestyle and you rarely use the tub. However, there are potential downsides to consider. The cost, which can range from $1,200 to $8,000, can be a deterrent. Additionally, if you have young children, a bathtub is often easier for bathing them. Finally, removing the only bathtub in a home can potentially lower its resale value in the eyes of some buyers.

Kitchen remodels are one of the most popular home renovations and for good reason. Many homeowners view the kitchen as the heart of the home and it’s where they welcome and entertain guests. Refreshing a bedroom requires a little paint and perhaps some fresh flooring, but kitchens often require a major renovation to be both functional and modern. From new appliances to updated countertops and backsplashes, or fresh floors and cabinets, there is no shortage of ways to refresh a kitchen to meet your needs and style preferences.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

Current trends include frameless glass, smart shower systems, and water-efficient fixtures.

Yes, tiling a bathroom is a great way to boost your home's value, especially if you are replacing old or dated flooring. Adding a new tile floor can deliver a return on investment (ROI) of around 56.4%, with some projects offering up to 100% ROI. Buyers appreciate new tile because it provides a modern look and is known for being durable, water-resistant, low-maintenance, and easy to clean. For the best results and highest return, consider hiring a professional, as tiling mistakes can be very noticeable and detract from the value.
