"Excellent tree removal service from start to finish. Friendly customer service, excellent communication, scheduling was easy, the crew arrived when expected, and they were clearly very skilled at what they do. The guys made removing the 5 trees on my property look easy and sometimes even fun! They worked very efficiently and the clean up was great. They even showed up the next day to trim a massive tree on my neighbor’s property. Highly recommend this company!!!"

Organic Lawn Top Dressing & Organic Lawn Fertilization. I started this company to offer an organic, safe lawn application that really gets results. Using our specialized spreaders we spread wonderful rich compost to build your soil in your lawn and landscape. Compost improves the structure and texture of the soil enabling it to better retain nutrients, moisture, and air for the stronger, healthier plants. This organic matter feeds the soil microbes that are vital for good diverse soil environment. Compost helps to control diseases and insects that might otherwise overrun a more sterile soil lacking natural checks against their spread. Compost can save lots of money too - reducing costs of replacing sod and plants, use less water, reduce cost of herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers. Results may vary due to turf and soil conditions. Most people see their turf thicken & bare spots fill in. It usually take a few weeks to begin to see results. Gradually compaction lessens and the soil may even feel softer. Watering needs should go down 30%. When we seed at the same time as top dressing we usually have a good stand of grass in 3 weeks. "I had branches that needed heightened from a back alley and used the opportunity to have 5 trees (med-large) trimmed. Paul and team were quick to respond to request for quote, able to start early the next day, and checked in on my satisfaction throughout the process. Great job and would hire again!"

"As usual, Mr. Sosa and his team did a wonderful job for us. We had over 10 diseased trees removed from our property, all over 30ft high. Additionally, we had a major tree trimming job performed on the rest of the mature growth trees on our multiple acre property which had not been properly maintained for one, maybe two, decades. The job required expert care and professional judgement the entire time as many of these trees have grown over the cedar shake roof on both my house and barn. Mr. Sosa's team were punctual on all three days and maintained cleanliness of the work sites when finished. The asked for my inspection and approval before leaving each day, and made it a point to regularly check in with me before addressing difficult portions of the job (e.g., trimming overhangs onto my neighbor's property). I will continue to use Sosa Tree Service on a regular basis and recommend him with confidence. I once again give them top marks for all review categories."

"I had a fairly large walnut tree and a smaller elm come down in a storm. I reached out to a number of different tree companies and Monster was only one of Three that actually came out to even give an estimate. Another company asked for pictures to do their estimate off of and never contacted me back and another did respond to let me know they didn't service my area. So.. was happy that Monster sent an actual person out. While I had not idea of the cost, which is always more than you think it is going to be, I was ok with paying it since the Walnut tree was pretty big. On the day the crew came out they were great. They had both trees taken care of in no time. They even cut off a couple sections for a friend of mine who is doing wood work. I would recommend Monster Tree service to anyone and I'm actually planning to use them again this winter to clear some dead wood out."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Getting a tree pro with the right experience can be the difference between your transplanted tree surviving or not. When hiring a local tree transplanting and removal service, follow up on references, check their portfolio, ask for a breakdown of the costs, and get proof of liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

Also, look for companies certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or registered with the Tree Care Industry Association and make sure they have an appropriate state or city license.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.

If your palm tree has spots on the leaves, rotting buds, or is beginning to turn yellow, then you have a sick tree on your hands. You should contact a palm tree specialist to identify the problem and help treat the tree if possible. Preventing diseases and pests is key to a healthy palm tree, and it's essential to take action as soon as possible if your tree is showing signs of being sick.

Ideally, you should wait to prune until trees have gone dormant in late fall to early winter. The worst times to prune trees are early fall and late summer, as pruning them so close to dormancy makes it difficult for the tree recover before it goes dormant for the season.
