I would not recommend this company for staining anything near your home. Fencing perhaps.

Typically a reputable company covers the outside of the area with plastic to protect it from getting overspray from the stain on your homes.  This company sprays water (yes from your garden hose) on the area where they are going to spray.  They say by wetting the surface area it keeps the oil based stain from sticking to areas not being stained.  Advice for those considering staining.  Ask your vendor if they use water spray or plastic covering.

While spraying water to keep the stain off may be true in theory, it did not prove out 100%.  In addition, the weekend before I had had my windows cleaned. Besides my clean windows then being spotted by drying water/stain (requiring them to be recleaned), there were areas of my siding that absorbed the stain that I ended up repainting.  The area around the pole footings (concrete) was stained as well and I had to call them back out to remove.  They ended up power washing around the footings which while removed most (not all) the stain, it also removed some of the stain from the footings.  Besides this the offshoot from all the water spray left my yard a muddy mess for several days.  The 2 men that did the job were not of the highest caliber either.

"The installers did a very good job of working out the framing of the walkway to make the landings approximately equal in size while having to accommodate a curving and sloping layout. They were careful in digging and did not damage any of several sprinkler system pipes that were right in the middle of the layout. (Unlike a prior contractor that had done work for me.) The job was not rushed so that attention was paid to the details, and the job was completed in a week. They did a very good job of cleanup at the end of each day and at the completion of the project. Luisa took care of the city permitting which made it easier for me to get HOA approval for the walkway. We have a nice looking and functional walkway that gives us much easier access from the street to our front door instead of making our way up a very steep driveway."
