"It went great. The initial work patched the roof where the rats were coming in and out of the attic. They put flashing up where needed, and painted it to match the surrounding flashing. Inside the attic, they put traps out in common spots. The plan was to check it after a few days, then after a few weeks. A couple of weeks in at dinner, we heard a trap go off, but found no evidence. I called them to notify them we found a faint odor Saturday morning. It was cold outside, but they wanted to remove the carcass as soon as possible, so they drove out that day. Fantastic staff, owner, business, would definitely recommend to anyone with pest/varmint problems!"

"

It went great.  I have used Village Green before and worked with Ken the owner so I know their work and how trustworthy they are.

As a result of foundation work, a number of landscape-related items were left in disarray including excessive dirt in my flowerbeds, missing mulch, drip system damaged, shrubs stuck in the ground crooked, excess dirt over root barrier and landscape lighting.

I contacted Village Green about the issues and Ken came out and sized up the situation, taking pictures and making notes of what needed to be done.  I suggested and Ken agreed that it might be best to do the job on a time and material basis since it was not a well defined job.  I expressed a concern about keeping the cost down so Ken made a nice offer.  They could do the work at a slightly discounted price during their slack season which I greatly appreciated.  I had to wait until that time but it was worth the tradeoff.  Ken offered to have Darrell, his field supervisor, stop by and look at the job to estimate the number of hours it would take.  All this came off as planned as it usually does with Village Green.  I received an estimate on the number of hours it would take and we entered into a contract to do the work.

Darrell stopped by a couple times to check a couple thinks and  plan the work. They stayed in touch with me and after a couple of start and stops (on my part and the weather) the work finally got done.

The guys that came out, Johnny and Edwardo, were just great to work with.  They do great work and their very best to please the customer. I could not be any more satisfied.  There was an issue with the drip line to be worked on so they had their irrigation specialist Sam stop by and he was just as helpful.  They all make such a great team and work together well.  The work got finished up in a little less time than estimated which I greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I did not think to check the drip line until the fellows had left.  I discovered it was leaking so I contacted Ken and Darrell arranged to have Sam stop by.  He not only fixed that leak but three more, and took the time to explain how I might get better usage of my controller.  I greatly appreciated the lesson in controllers.  Sam also introduced me to the high tech controller they use which is something.  And Village Green did not charge me for this follow-up work even though it was legitimately my fault for not checking the line when the guys were here the first time.

All things considered the whole experience went exceptionally well from the initial contact to the actual performing the work and even the follow-up.  A really nice aspect of Village Green's service is the way the details of the work to be performed is captured in the initial field visit with the customer and conveyed to the field supervisor and eventually to the guys that do the work.  Recall, I stated pictures and notes were taken. Well all this info is passed on to the field supervisor and the workers in the field so there is no repeating what needs to be done.  Everyone knows what the job is and it lines up with what was originally told to Ken.  Nice, really nice!

"Was getting a second opinion on a termite bait installation from Prize. When the guy came out, he told us that the quote we had gotten from the other company was more than was needed, gave us good information on why, and was honest about the actual need. Would definitely recommend and am planning to look at switching normal pest control services to them in the future."

"Great crew. I had never had to have bees removed before and was worried they would end up in my house or my attic and the site would be a mess when they had finished. I did not have to worry. They answered all of my questions. Told me exactly what they were doing and why. They handled my vinyl siding like it was their own. It was a huge plus for me that they could vacuum the honey bees from the hive and relocate and not kill them. Hopefully I will not have another hive appear but Bee Safe will be the people I call."

Animal Removal questions, answered by experts

Ladybugs and nematodes eat fleas outdoors. In fact, ladybugs can eat an average of 50 bugs each hour. If you see them outdoors, avoid causing them harm to help you keep unwanted pests away.

Don’t let it run off without scaring it away through shouting, loud noises, waving your arms, or even throwing some rocks in its general direction if possible. You want the bobcat to get away with the thought that this place is not safe for them, which will dissuade them from returning.

Signs of badgers in a yard or garden include large burrow holes 2 to 9 feet deep and 1 to 2 feet wide in your lawn or garden or under your fence. Badgers may even break through fences in some cases. Partially eaten fruits, vegetables, and animal carcasses can also be a sign. Look for bits of fur, bones, spines, and skulls.

The cost of removing a hornets nest ranges from $300 to $400, depending on the size and location of the active nest. Bald-faced hornet removal costs more than the average—about $625 to $750. The price tag also depends on the eradication method, ranging from aerosol sprays and dusting to vacuuming and extermination.

The cost of pest control services depends on various factors, but the average homeowner pays around $175, with a typical range of $100 to $500. Your final cost will be influenced by the type of pest, the size and severity of the infestation, and the number of treatments needed.

Service costs also vary by frequency:

  • One-time service: $300–$550

  • Initial visit for ongoing service: $150–$300

  • Monthly visits: $40–$70

  • Quarterly visits: $100–$300

  • Annual visits: $300–$550

For specific pest examples, getting rid of spiders typically costs between $100 and $300, whereas a termite infestation can cost from $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the extent of the damage.
