"The Duster Crew was the best house cleaning service we have ever had. We have lived in different states and cities and prior to the Duster Crew, we were never completely satisfied with the cleaning services we received. The Duster Crew thoroughly cleaned our house including the baseboards and blinds. They far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely use them again."

"Jessica was great! She checked in with me prior to the appointment to work out a mutually convenient day & time, as well as the type of services needed. She was thorough. She offered a deep cleaning option and was true to her word. I had some bed sheets folded up on a guest bed & hadn’t gotten around to making the bed, and I piled up all my kids’ toys on a game table so they wouldn’t be in her way when she vacuumed. She made the bed for me, and put away all our kids’ toys in their toy cubbies. What an unexpected and pleasant surprise! The last time she cleaned, I asked her if we could use different methods for cleaning to reduce risk of Coronavirus exposure. She was agreeable and did a great job. We appreciated her flexibility. Jessica has been great to work with! We’ll definitely schedule with her again."

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Depending on your type of carpet, a wet/dry vacuum is a great final step to removing blood stains, but it will only help after you’ve used another method to pull out the bulk of the stain. A good option is to use a wet cleaning method, then apply baking soda to the stain, and then follow that by vacuuming thoroughly. Remember that this vacuum type does not work on all carpet types. Wool can shrink with this method, so always check the cleaning instructions from your carpet’s manufacturer.

The first thing you should do when cleaning smoke damage is open all your windows to ventilate the affected area and run an air purifier with a HEPA filter. Cover your furniture and belongings to prevent soot accumulation, and vacuum any soot that’s on the floor and other surfaces. Be sure to wear a mask, gloves, and eye protection when cleaning the affected area.

The drying time for a couch or other upholstered furniture after cleaning can range from 1 to 24 hours, with a common estimate being 2 to 8 hours. This duration depends on several factors, including the type of fabric, the cleaning method used (such as steam cleaning or shampooing), the size of the furniture, and the room's temperature and humidity.

To speed up the drying process, you can use fans, a heater, or a dehumidifier, and increase ventilation by opening windows. Rotating the cushions can also help ensure they dry evenly. It is crucial to wait until the furniture is completely dry before sitting on it. Using it while damp can trap moisture, potentially causing mold, mildew, unpleasant odors, dye transfer, or permanent damage to the foam cushions.

If your carpet is 15 years old and has yet to be cleaned regularly (every year or two), then you may need to replace the carpet. Wear patterns, stains, and dirt that has filtered into the carpet may not come out if it isn’t maintained properly. However, a professional carpet cleaner will test clean a small area or room to see if cleaning will give your carpet another couple of years of life. Otherwise, your best option may be to replace the carpet.

The best solvent for removing carpet glue depends on its chemical composition. Most carpet glue reacts well to a solvent made from orange oil. Use mineral spirits to remove tar-based glue, which has a darker, brownish tint. Methylene chloride paint stripper and lacquer thinner should also work, but beware of the nasty and dangerous fumes.
