"The services and work that Francisco Albaran offers to his clients is outstanding, extremely professional, respectful and friendly! While dry wells can be effective for managing rainwater, they have several disadvantages. Most professionals recommend that a deep well pump shouldn’t run more than 10 hours consecutively before cycling off. The depth of your septic tank has nothing to do with its size. In fact, some septic tanks can even be installed above-ground! Like other sizes, a 1,000-gallon septic tank could be buried as shallow as 4 inches below the ground or as deep as 4 feet. It all depends on your specific property.

Depending on local conditions, a deep well may be a better choice than a shallow well. Deeper well depth accesses groundwater that has been naturally filtered through many layers of soil and rock. This reduces surface contaminants and may offer cleaner water, but deep wells cost more money to build and maintain. The water may be harder and have higher radioactivity, too. 

Age is certainly a factor in well pump failure. The older your pump, the more likely it is to fail.
