"After talking to six other companies, I decided to give Elite Arborist a try. Carlos came out to give an estimate on laying new sod and redoing the stonework around a tree in my front yard. He was punctual and listened carefully to what I wanted. He told me all the things his company does and how they could make my vision a reality. We ended up agreeing to the work as well as pruning the large oak tree we have. On the day of the project, the sod was delivered 6:30 a.m. and the crew arrived an hour later. I was impressed how they put out orange cones around the area for neighbors’ visual safety. Carlos introduced me to the crew supervisor, Rocky. Throughout the day, Rocky kept me informed about what they were doing and progress. He patiently answered all my questions and reassured me that I would be pleased with the results. I was very impressed with the attention to detail to the stonework around the tree, the meticulous way they prepped to lay the sod and the expertise of tree pruning. They took great care in making sure they left may yard and surrounding areas, i.e., street very clean. By the end of the day, my front yard was transformed and had great curb appeal. Plus, the Oak tree really stands out. Carlos also sent me information on after care and fertilization of the sod. I’m very happy with the results. I paid a little more than I expected but it was well worth it. When it comes to landscaping professionals, Elite Arborist is the company you need. These guys are fantastic. They have a true passion for what they do and are very professional. I highly recommend this company. Their work is top notch."

"I had several trees in need of trimming and shaping. The crew was on time, efficient, and got right to work. They work as a team. My neighbor observed their work and hired them to trim a HUGE tree in her yard. Two Climbers exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend them and will not hesitate to hire them again."

Organic Lawn Top Dressing & Organic Lawn Fertilization. I started this company to offer an organic, safe lawn application that really gets results. Using our specialized spreaders we spread wonderful rich compost to build your soil in your lawn and landscape. Compost improves the structure and texture of the soil enabling it to better retain nutrients, moisture, and air for the stronger, healthier plants. This organic matter feeds the soil microbes that are vital for good diverse soil environment. Compost helps to control diseases and insects that might otherwise overrun a more sterile soil lacking natural checks against their spread. Compost can save lots of money too - reducing costs of replacing sod and plants, use less water, reduce cost of herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers. Results may vary due to turf and soil conditions. Most people see their turf thicken & bare spots fill in. It usually take a few weeks to begin to see results. Gradually compaction lessens and the soil may even feel softer. Watering needs should go down 30%. When we seed at the same time as top dressing we usually have a good stand of grass in 3 weeks. "The services performed included general tree pruning for 3 Chinese Pistache trees, installing a cable/bracing, and deep root fertilization. Derek came to the house and was very polite and personable and gave me a detailed job description with a very reasonable estimate. The job was completed in a professional and timely manner; Derek and his crew did great work and an amazing clean up job before they left. I had a question about the bracing bolts being a bit too long, and the crew came immediately and trimmed them and it looks great. They worked very hard to save a tree my wife desperately wanted to save. As they say, if the wife is happy, I am happy. I am a repeat customer of Lumberjack Tree Service and will definitely use them again. I give them my highest recommendation."

"My experience with Mike at Arbor View was positive from the beginning. I solicited bids from three highly rated landscapers on Angie's list. Although my call to Arbor View went to voicemail (Mike was working on a job at the time), Mike returned the call the same day and scheduled a visit to provide the estimate within a couple of days - by far the fastest of any of the firms. He arrived promptly as scheduled and listened and gave me valuable suggestions/feedback as we reviewed what I wanted. He followed up with a detailed quote the following day. Unfortunately the other folks I called were less responsive, and it took me about two weeks to gather the remaining quotes. When all was said and done Arbor View quoted the best price, and Mike was the the one I felt most comfortable working with. When I called to schedule the job, Mike told me he could do it in a couple of weeks, depending on the weathers' impact on his schedule and said he would contact me before coming out that week. Sure enough, on Wednesday of the promised week, Mike called and told me he'd be there mid-morning the following day. When he came by we adjusted the scope of work slightly and changed the quantity of plants to be installed. Once again, Mike was flexible and accommodating and began work removing the old landscaping immediately. Throughout the process Mike was professional, accommodating and communicated effectively and thoroughly. Although the work was just completed yesterday, I can say that I am pleased with the outcome and experience, and have no doubt I will be treated fairly in the event any issues arise. I highly recommend Arbor View for any landscape installation needs"

"My experience with Sosa's Tree Service was outstanding from start to finish. It was so refreshing to have a job executed as well as they did from start to finish.
Sosa had previously done some emergency work for me when I had a tree fall on my property and block my driveway. They did such a good job that I asked them to provide me with an estimate for this tree removal, stump grinding, and trimming. Their quote was significantly lower than two other quotes I received, so after I saw their work on my fallen tree I was happy to hire them.
I got the full court press from the Sosa crews. They worked quickly, efficiently, and as a team. At no point did I have any member of their crew sitting around waiting to be asked to do something, but instead they were constantly on the lookout for something to do in order to improve their work product. They were extremely courteous to me, my wife, and my neighbors. Further, they were mindful of my property and that of my neighbors. Their work was damage free and my property was left cleaner than it was before they arrived.
Tree cutting and removal:
My pine trees were 30-35 years old, about 50+ feet in height, and growing in a very tight space in my backyard. I was extremely nervous about damage to any number of structures on both my property and my neighbors' as well. The Sosa crews handled the cutting and removal of all three trees with both speed and care. A week later I have still found no damage anywhere, so I can confidently say their work on this was flawless.
Stump grinding:
Including the three pine trees, I had three additional stumps that the previous homeowner left on the property needing to be ground. The crews had to remove a section of my neighbors fence in order to navigate the stump grinder into my backyard, which they do so with great care and without damage. The crew also managed execute the grinding of the pine stumps without damage to my retaining wall and decorative fence which, quite frankly, I didn't think was possible. Further, Sosa was able to navigate all of my sprinkler heads successfully and leave no damage to any of those as well.
Tree trimming:
Sosa ensured that they had a licensed/certified arborist on hand to direct the trimming and canopy lifting of the oak trees on my property. The trees varied in size and height, with the tallest being approximately 45ft and the smallest around 20ft. The arborist was happy to consult with my wife on each tree to ensure they executed the correct volume of trimming and attained the correct canopy height she desired. All of the trimmings were promptly removed from my property and put into the chipper. The crews removed just about every trace of any debris from my yard, roof, gutters, and driveway. The arborist also left us a list of maintenance to-do's in order to keep our trees healthy throughout the year. This went well over and above my expectations.
Extras:
The crews went the extra mile for us and I appreciate it. They trimmed our rose bushes, spread the mulch from the stumps, and blew away some sediment runoff I had in my driveway. They even cleaned up around the curbs abutting the street, which is something I had never seen before. Things like these do not go unnoticed.
Equipment:
I would be remiss if I failed to note the status of Sosa's equipment. Many homeowners can appreciate the positive correlation between the proper maintenance of a contractor's equipment and the quality of their work. I noted that all of the trucks, ladders, saws, and stump grinder are were working order and definitely maintained. All tools were properly cleaned and stored and their trucks were clean. They take care of their gear.
I'm happy to give Sosa Tree Service has my highest recommendation.

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

While palm trees can bring aesthetic appeal to your yard, they have a couple of drawbacks. The main disadvantage is that many types require warm climates, so if you live in a cold region, you need to ensure you pick a palm that can withstand the freezing temperatures. Another downside is that maintenance can be difficult because of their height, which means you will need to pay a pro to prune the tree as needed.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.
