"We purchased a Big Deal for installation of a new security system. Theo explained everything that would be included and performed an assessment of our home to make recommendations on what we would need. After the assessment, he installed everything immediately. The process took a couple hours, and he was very respectful and professional during that time. With the incredible deal, we were able to receive a standard security system with monitoring plus several home automation options, including video cameras and a thermostat. One item that we purchased was out of stock. When it was back in stock a week later, he contacted us and came back to install it immediately. We are very happy with the system we purchased. We feel we received a very robust system for a great price. We also love the app that came with the automation and like that we can continue to add on to our system if we choose."

"Zach arrived on time and set right to work solving my long standing problems w my network. Zach said that I'm more interested in the technical aspects of the setup than most customers, and he took the time to explain what I was interested in learning. He provided and set up two items of networking equipment [routers], several cameras and software that I had on hand. He also guided me on using app on smartphone to access system from elsewhere. He called the next morning to be sure all was still working as designed in installed - it was/is. All in all, a great experience. Texas Tech Guru, Inc. is the answer to all your computer or networking problems. I would [will] call him again. I will recommend him to friends."

"I am using the time stamps on my cell phone logs to chronicle this amazing response.
The light kit on a ceiling fan failed (second time failure....first time Hunter replaced the switch housing assembly under warranty, but now they no longer make that part.) I called Dave at Electrician on Call  at 9:35 a.m. to ask if the assembly could be repaired. He described the fix to the problem he thought I was experiencing. I asked about an estimate and he said it was a fix that would take less than an hour and suggested I purchase the Angies List special that was $105 for one hour which would be the best deal for this relatively simple repair. So I did. At  9:59 a.m. I received a call from the office saying the electricians would be at my home at 10:08 a.m. They pulled up at exactly 10:08.  Obdulio and Tony asked me to show and describe the problem, and I did. At 10;35 they had completed the repair, loaded their truck and departed. So, called at 9:35 a.m., work scheduled and completed at 10:35 a.m. same morning. Everyone was pleasant and professional and Obdulio and Tony couldn't have been more personable.

Home Security Systems questions, answered by experts

Yes, keyless locks can deter burglars, mostly because they boost security and offer advanced features. Most models allow for unique codes or temporary access, making it harder for intruders to break in. Many of these smart locks even alert you if someone tries to tamper with them. However, you need to remember that while they provide an added layer of protection, no lock is completely foolproof. Pairing these locks with good security habits—like proper lighting and surveillance cameras—creates a strong defense to help stop intruders in their tracks.

It depends on the type of sensor your home security system uses. If it’s a motion detector, any moving thing could set it off, from a roaming pet to a wind-blown curtain. Contact sensors would be triggered by the window being opened or moved. Also, be aware that any sensors placed too close to your vents could trigger false alarms whenever your heat or air conditioning is running.

Yes, evaluating needs based on home size, layout, and climate.

You don’t need to completely revamp your security system constantly, but it’s a great idea to give it a once-over every year. Look for potential upgrades or new features—like smart home tech or replacing outdated equipment—that could boost your safety. If you make any significant changes, let your insurer know as they may adjust your discounts to reflect your improved security. Staying on top of your security not only keeps your home safe but ensures you’re getting the best possible rate on your insurance.

Yes, many providers offer remote troubleshooting and monitoring for business networks.
