"After talking to six other companies, I decided to give Elite Arborist a try. Carlos came out to give an estimate on laying new sod and redoing the stonework around a tree in my front yard. He was punctual and listened carefully to what I wanted. He told me all the things his company does and how they could make my vision a reality. We ended up agreeing to the work as well as pruning the large oak tree we have. On the day of the project, the sod was delivered 6:30 a.m. and the crew arrived an hour later. I was impressed how they put out orange cones around the area for neighbors’ visual safety. Carlos introduced me to the crew supervisor, Rocky. Throughout the day, Rocky kept me informed about what they were doing and progress. He patiently answered all my questions and reassured me that I would be pleased with the results. I was very impressed with the attention to detail to the stonework around the tree, the meticulous way they prepped to lay the sod and the expertise of tree pruning. They took great care in making sure they left may yard and surrounding areas, i.e., street very clean. By the end of the day, my front yard was transformed and had great curb appeal. Plus, the Oak tree really stands out. Carlos also sent me information on after care and fertilization of the sod. I’m very happy with the results. I paid a little more than I expected but it was well worth it. When it comes to landscaping professionals, Elite Arborist is the company you need. These guys are fantastic. They have a true passion for what they do and are very professional. I highly recommend this company. Their work is top notch."

"Wilmer bid on the removal of a 65 foot oak I needed removed from my small back yard. He set a really fair price and came highly recommended. I was not disappointed. Wilmer and 24/7 Tree Service did an outstanding job. Very professional and courteous. On time and very fast and safe. They removed the tree, cleaned up all the debris and performed a stump grind. I couldn't be happier. My back yard has never looked better. My neighbors even commented on the great job they did. I am recommending them to all my friends and neighbors."

"We hired Campos Tree Service to cut down, remove and grind the stumps of dead mature Oak Trees. We have a very wooded lot with approximately 200 post oaks, red oaks, burr oaks and elm. 15 trees in all needed to be cut down, hauled away and the stumps ground. Campos Tree Service also performed maintenance work on by cutting any dead branches off every tree on our property. I highly recommend Mr. Campos and his company. His team of workers arrived at 7AM every morning and worked hard throughout the day. Mr. Campos did everything he said he would do. When the job was finished Mr. Campos and I walked the property and discussed the work he had performed for us. The overall clean-up was better than expected. We are very glad to have hired Mr. Campos. His price quoted on the bid was the final price. Our property looks very good now with the work he did for us. We highly recommend Campos Tree Service. "Great service, well managed by Romel and the crew was excellent. They cut many branches from my live oak tree in a timely manner. I was very impressed by the safety measures they took when climbing up within the tree. They also cleaned and raked the yard to remove any remaining debris. Their pricing was VERY reasonable. I would definitely hire them again!!!!!"

"Josh and his team were a pleasure to work with. Our project had 10 trees to remove and trimming dead branches in a small grove of oak trees plus chipping the debris. The bid was competitively priced and I would hire them again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

An arborist specializes in tree care, performing tasks such as pruning, treating diseases, and removing hazardous trees. They also assess soil conditions, plant trees, and develop landscaping plans to ensure healthy growth. They also manage debris cleanup, inspect equipment, and record maintenance activities. Arborists often collaborate with landscapers and professional tree maintenance services, applying their specialized knowledge and problem-solving skills to maintain tree health and safety.

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

In the case that a tree is growing directly on your property line, the cost of maintaining the tree is shared and is the property of both owners in common. In this case, all decisions regarding the maintenance of the tree must be made jointly, and both parties must agree on a course of action. You will need to agree with your neighbor about the cutting of any roots before you carry it out, and your neighbor must also consult with you before doing any trimming. Coming to an agreement with your neighbor about any shared trees ahead of necessary trimming and maintenance will make this process much simpler.

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. February and March are typically the prime time to hire a tree removal pro, and some homeowners living in colder climates can save around 20% off services. It depends on location and the company, but you can always shop around for the best deal.

Pruning trees during the summer can be a bad idea because the new growth will take place during the hottest months of the year, which can stress your tree out. Similarly, pruning during the early fall can be a bad idea, too, because you’d be stimulating new growth when most trees are aiming to go dormant.

Pruning recommendations will vary by the type of tree, but generally, waiting until winter to prune your trees is a good idea.
