"Josh was very professional all of the way through. His team was great too as they removed a row of u arborvitae and a dog wood, all of which were hard to recognize due to ivy covering them. They used a backhoe machine. They cleaned up the area of debre as well. I highly recommend them. Josh returned all phone calls promptly and followed through on everything he said he would do. What a relief! Thanks guys!"

"He did great work. I had an overgrown maple tree in my backyard that posed a threat to my roof, my fence, and even my neighbors property. He came out to survey the area and listen to my concerns. He discussed the problem areas with me and made sure he understood what I wanted. He arrived on time, trimmed everything up exactly as asked, and cleared the area afterwards. Now my yard looks great and my home feels safer. I would definitely hire him again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

When hiring for tree service in Springfield, OR, prioritize companies with ISA-certified arborists, current liability and workers' compensation insurance, and strong references from local clients. Ask if they manage permit applications with the City of Springfield and provide detailed, written estimates that include tree removal or tree trimming and cleanup. Checking their reputation with the Better Business Bureau and confirming experience with your specific tree species will help ensure a safe and thorough job.

Helpful?

In Springfield, OR, homeowners often make mistakes such as attempting DIY tree removal without proper equipment, neglecting to obtain required permits from local authorities, or pruning trees at inappropriate times. Hiring a tree service provider based solely on low price can result in poor workmanship. Failing to confirm insurance coverage or the arborist's credentials with the City of Springfield can also expose you to liability and property risks.

Helpful?

During tree service in Springfield, OR, homeowners may encounter unexpected costs related to permit processing, specialized equipment for hard-to-reach trees, or additional fees for handling diseased wood. If tree removal or tree trimming uncovers issues like invasive roots or proximity to underground utilities, extra work may be needed. It's wise to clarify with your arborist what's included in your estimate and confirm who is responsible for debris removal and site restoration.

Helpful?

For tree service in Springfield, OR, a permit is generally required for tree removal if the tree is over 6 inches in diameter, located in the public right-of-way, or designated as a heritage or significant tree. The City of Springfield Development & Public Works Department and Springfield Planning Division are the primary authorities for permits. Always verify with both departments, especially for properties near wetlands or regulated zones, as additional approvals may apply.

Helpful?

When arranging tree service in Springfield, OR, ensure your contractor follows OSHA safety standards and uses proper protective gear such as helmets, harnesses, and eye protection. The crew should be trained to work safely near power lines and possess up-to-date insurance, including workers' compensation. The City of Springfield recommends keeping bystanders away from the work zone and verifying that your arborist is licensed and experienced with local tree species and conditions.
