"Mack and his crew were great to work with. They were quick to get an estimate to us, to get the product in and to go to work. Our project consisted of installation of about 1600 square feet of LVP. There was considerable demolition to be done including removal of some ceramic tile and some underlayment to sheet vinyl to be removed. Mack sent 5 guys to do the demolition work was done in a day. We are going to have them install the same flooring in the remaining part of the house."

"Excellent work, excellent price, excellent communication. I am very satisfied with my floors and the service. Matt communicated with me promptly, before, during, and after the project. I would not only recommend Thayer Remodeling for floor finishing but would also call him for future flooring projects."

"Excellent install. No surprises, and the job was finished on time. Also, the project came in about $1000 less than if we had Lumber Liquidators do the job, and $16000 less than Empire flooring using the same materials. Keep your business local and you won't regret it!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Flooring contractors in Springfield start by evaluating the layout of your home, focusing on transitions between rooms and open spaces. They consider how flooring installation will affect high-traffic areas, such as entryways from garages or patios, and assess existing features like baseboards and heating vents. Seasonal factors, like Springfield’s rainy winters, can also influence project timing and phasing for optimal results.

Helpful?

In Springfield, flooring projects often reflect the home’s age and lifestyle changes. Older homes may have original hardwood or linoleum, which can develop squeaks or moisture issues over time. Flooring contractors frequently restore hardwood or replace worn surfaces with luxury vinyl plank for added durability. As homes age, moisture repairs and upgrades to waterproof or pet-friendly flooring materials become more common to meet changing household needs.

Helpful?

Your Springfield home is a strong candidate for a flooring project if you notice warped boards, persistent squeaks, or moisture near patios and crawl spaces. Homes over 20 years old often benefit from updated flooring installation, especially if you have pets or children. If cleaning is a challenge or your floors show visible wear, consulting a flooring contractor can help you choose durable, easy-to-maintain options.

Helpful?

In Springfield, unexpected costs during flooring projects often arise from discovering subfloor moisture issues or damage, especially in homes near the river or with older construction. Flooring contractors may recommend moisture barriers or subfloor repairs before installation. If you’re changing floor heights, you might need to adjust doors, baseboards, or HVAC vents. Permit fees can also apply if your flooring installation involves structural modifications.

Helpful?

For new homeowners in Springfield, it’s smart to begin flooring projects in entryways and mudrooms, where durable, moisture-resistant materials can handle local weather. Next, focus on main living areas for maximum impact, especially in open floor plans. Bathrooms and laundry rooms should follow, using waterproof flooring installation. Bedrooms can be updated later. Scheduling work during Springfield’s dry season helps ensure a smoother flooring contractor experience.
