"I'm selling my house and needed a quick turn-around to get some electrical work done as required by the buyers' lender. It's only been a couple days since I posted my project on Angi and the work is already done. Safety Home Services contacted me right away to get my project on their schedule. Kevin arrived as scheduled and was very quick and thorough with the GFCI replacements and other items on my list. As a bonus, he identified and clearly labeled all the switches in my breaker box. I'm a very happy customer."

"I spent $1,000 with another well known heating company, and the furnace was still not fixed!! I just gave up, and went all last winter with electric heaters. There was no way I was going to call them again, as when, once again, the tech willy nilly replaced yet another part, the tech said it should work now and ran out of my house without testing. My neighbor recommended Jco, and the man from Jco spent about half and hour and had it working, without replacing any parts. So for $60, I am now able to heat my house again this winter with my furnace. Highly recommend Jco."

"Austin, had to replace two panels at my son's family house. He had to replace and upgrade the one on his power pole. He also had to replace the one that was in the house. When he was finished with the job, all of the wiring inside of both panels were tucked away nice and cleanly. His work was done very professionally. I highly recommend Bohemia Electric they are the only ones that I will have do any of my electrical work."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical projects in Springfield, consider the region’s frequent rain, which can impact outdoor wiring and require weatherproof materials. Older homes may have outdated wiring or limited electrical capacity, so an electrical panel upgrade might be needed. Some neighborhoods have HOA rules or underground utility restrictions. Take advantage of local energy efficiency incentives and plan ahead, as electricians are often in high demand during spring and summer.

Helpful?

In Springfield, be wary of quotes that are unusually low, lack detailed breakdowns of materials or labor, or omit mention of necessary permits. Watch for vague timelines, unclear warranty terms, or requests for large upfront payments. Reputable electricians will provide written estimates, explain code compliance, and discuss inspection steps. Always check for local references and verify experience with projects like panel upgrades or home rewiring.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Springfield, keep essentials like a non-contact voltage tester, GFCI outlet tester, wire strippers, pliers, and moisture-resistant wire nuts. Stock outdoor-rated electrical boxes, corrosion-resistant conduit, and grounding rods to handle the local climate. Surge protectors and a reliable flashlight are helpful during outages. Having extra GFCI outlets and electrical tape ensures your home wiring stays safe and up to code.

Helpful?

Electrical work in Springfield can impact interconnected systems like HVAC, security, and internet, especially during panel upgrades or when adding circuits. Changes to home wiring may require adjustments to grounding or surge protection, and can disturb insulation or vapor barriers in walls. Consult a licensed professional to assess how your project could affect other systems, ensuring everything remains safe, efficient, and compliant with local electrical codes.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Springfield, review your project scope to identify if it involves panel upgrades, new circuits, or outdoor wiring, as these often require permits. Allow extra time during wetter months, since inspections and outdoor work can be delayed by weather. Coordinate early with local utilities for any service changes, and always confirm underground utility locations before digging to ensure electrical safety and prevent disruptions.
