"Professional and highest quality. I have had many bad experiences with contractors. Chatel was top of the line and high end work. I was not disappointed!"

"I recently closed on my new-build condo in Stuyvesant Heights area of Brooklyn this past March 2023, & needed a local general contractor to execute a long list of works to bring my designs for the unit to life & add some character to it. When I contacted Waxtel LLC, Dave (owner) priced the large job I requested (general contractor, electrical, and plumbing works) reasonably within my budget, was very responsive, & kept communication clear. Rich (PM) helped support the contractor team in execution of the works, but myself/husband did have to handhold some of the contractor works to ensure it was done on time & met our quality standards."

"I just finished a gut renovation of my West Village apartment. The CNM team (Matt, Jose, Mateo & Vicente) are a tremendous group to work with. They provided top notch customer service and excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. They would be my #1 recommendation to anyone looking for a General Contractor. 10 out of 10 experience."

"This was the second time we have worked with Kazi and his wonderful team at Rahat Construction. Last summer, right before our first child was born, they repointed the 120-year-old foundation in our basement and painted and sealed the whole thing so it would be clean and bright when we started doing lots of extra laundry for the baby. That project went great, and this one did too. This time, they cleaned up and repainted the iron fencing and window guards in the front of our house and built a set of lovely and very sturdy railings and banisters for our back deck. Kazi is just a delight to work with. He's easy to communicate with, punctual, thoughtful about his approach to every detail of the job, and unlike many contractors, constantly around to make sure that the work is being done to his customers' satisfaction. We're really looking forward to working with him again in the near future."

"We engaged Gaudioso Construction to perform full-scale gut renovation of the first floor and kitchen remodel at our Forest Hills home. We could not have been happier with the quality of their workmanship and are confident in recommending Gaudioso for the most complicated projects. Gaudioso’s team of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tilers, sheetrockers, and painters were all skilled and quite prideful of their craft. Gaudioso’s guys were not your typical get in and get out, cut corners at every turn kind of workers. They all worked methodically and meticulously spending the time where time needed to be spent. While pictures of the end product are always great, one needs to see a project from beginning to end to fully understand the skills needed to ensure your walls are straight, your pipes don’t clog, your electric doesn’t spark, your floors (and hence your cabinets) are level, and and every inch of your remodeled space feels exactly right. Gaudioso’s people have mastered those skills which is seen in the photos. The project was based on an architect’s drawings and was subject to inspection by the NYC buildings department. The project consisted of the following in order of complexity: - Bearing wall separating a terrible galley kitchen from the dining room was removed - A 20ft steel beam installed to support second floor of house (in place of bearing wall) - Steam heating pipes within the walls were re-routed to make way for a kitchen island - Waterlines and waste lines to the bathrooms above were all re-routed to make way for a higher ceiling and increased floor area - Existing kitchen plumbing completely removed, replaced and relocated - Electric in kitchen completely removed, replaced and brought to code (incl. upgraded breaker box) - Complete reframing & sheetrocking of the entire space - Non-bearing wall removed, ceiling, adjacent wall, and floor repaired and matched with existing - Cabinets, lighting fixtures, faucets and etc all installed - Floors removed, replaced and finshed. All of the items above and numerous other ancillary items were completed within the expected timeframe and without any matters of concern. On matters of preference, Gaudioso addressed in a way that told us they wanted us to be happy. One last thing, if you’ve read this far. Gaudioso took ownership of anything his people did touch or (what he believed) should have touched. During the course of the project there were two unexpected occurrences. In both these situations, most contractors would have thrown their hands up and said “that’s your problem”. Gaudioso, without being asked, scoped the occurrences into his realm of responsibility and fixed both issues at his own expense. Any project comes with its heartaches, especially one of this scale. It’s best to hire a contractor with a strong track record and people that are up to the task. Gaudioso is one you can rely on to get the job done without the typical contractor issues."

"LI & A Construction completed two projects for us. The first was last summer. Mr. Hetnarien and his team eliminated a section of the houseâ s back deck. This year LI & A Construction updated a section of a small bathroom in our house. On both projects, Mr. Hetnarien and his crew did an outstanding job. My research for a general contractor led me to LI & A Contraction Corp. My first requirement was that the business have the necessary license and insurance in good standing and Mr. Hetnarien â s business did. On communication and responsiveness, they get high marks. Mr. Hetnarien always got back to me within 48 hours. He is both accessible and approachable. Both jobs were carried out promptly. If they anticipated a delay because of bad weather (and there was), this was made known to me ahead of time. He and his team are knowledgeable, professional, and respectful. I would not hesitate to hire Mr. Hetnarien again."

Customers say: Quick response

"On September 2, 2021 following the remnants of Hurricane Ida I encountered multiple severe floods into my home. Little did I know what I was about to experience in the world of disingenuous professional contractors. I interviewed no less than 18 different contracting companies and encountered some of the most despicable human beings I have met in my almost 70 years on Earth. Some made promises they never had any intentions of keeping over a period of many months. Others made firm commitments towards a start date and then cancelled with as little as 48 hours notice. Quite a few quoted repair prices 3-4 times more then they should simply taking advantage of the Pandemic and the supply chain shortage. Pandemic Profiteers. Thanks to Home Advisor I received a quote request for 3A Contracting, Corp. on June 15th 2022. I cannot say enough good things about owner Bill Ngucaj and his sons Anthony and Andy and their wonderful crew of hard working talented technicians. From the very first time I spoke with him to the very last day of my job he followed through with every single thing he said he would do and more! Every time I called him, emailed or texted him there was an immediate response. It is so refreshing and rare to find someone with these kind of work ethics in this day and age. I also found it fascinating to watch him and his crew at work. He is more committed to doing a job right than anyone I have ever seen. Just as importantly he is a good man and understood what I had gone through the previous 9 months chasing after irresponsible people while enduring flood after flood. He rebuild my porch and the ceiling of my terrace and installed TimberTech above and Ceramic tile below. I have never seen three individuals work harder over a 5-day period in tremendous heat. A few weeks after completion it finally rained a wind-blown torrential rain and not a single drop of water entered my home. No longer did I need to monitor the weather report every day fearing a heavy rain. If you are looking for the very best in contractors you need not search any further. I have continued using 3A Contracting, Corp for anything and everything I need done in my home from plumbing to electrical work, you name it he does it! If he cannot he recommends people just like him that will! Thank you guys, I will never forget how you bailed me out in my time of need!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Homeowners can increase the usefulness of their garage space in other ways, and one option is to extend the length of the garage by making it deeper. The process is similar to traditional garage extensions, but the end product is a garage with a different layout rather than additional parking spaces.
