"I found Greg here on Home Advisor, and his reviews seemed almost too good to be true. They were totally accurate, though: Greg is personable, professional, and reliable. In short, he's a good guy who has a good crew that does excellent work. Some contractors do good work but aren't that dependable, but Greg is great on both counts. I highly recommend him (and plan to use him again soon myself!)."

"This was my second time using CNM for a renovation and both times it was a 5 star experience. I first used them in 2016 for a kitchen and bathroom reno in a small co-op apartment. Because of that positive experience, I asked Matt and the team to do a complete house gut reno in 2022-23. Before I finalized purchase of my house, I first had Matt come by to give me a scope and estimate. This was a big job that lasted over a year during which time we were living in the house. All of the workers are highly skilled, responsible, communicative, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. They expertly handled all aspects of the renovation- electrical, plumbing, tiling, framing, etc. I feel so lucky to have found CNM and would hire them again in an instant."

"Excellent contractors! We keep hiring them. They are extremely efficient. And they do it all. They worked on our bk condo by adding a staircase and building a second floor from scratch., as well as a total kitchen remodel. They also did a complete cosmetic update renovation to my mom’s house in queens. You know you have great contractors when you go back to them to get more work done."

"This was a job they did at my mom's house. I have used them before to do some work at my house and also at my mom's house.

Therefore, I already knew what to expect.

As usual the crew was prompt and polite. I am very satisfied with the job they did.

They do an excellent clean-up job."

"I hired KBR to renovate my kitchen and bathroom, and honestly, I couldn?t be happier. I was nervous at first because renovations in NYC can be a nightmare, but they made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Kitchen Remodel: My kitchen was tiny and outdated, but they completely transformed it. They helped me pick cabinets that made the space feel bigger, added beautiful quartz countertops, and installed a backsplash that made everything pop. The best part? They figured out a way to add extra storage without making it feel cramped."

"In 2016 we purchased a semi-detached two-family home in a neighborhood in Queens, NYC. The house needed major renovations and we count ourselves very fortunate to have selected Gaudioso Inc. as our contractor. In a first phase, Luis and his crew renovated the first floor rooms, did repairs on the brick walls outside and replaced the garage roof and the patio roof. We were pleased with the result and decided to continue with Gaudioso Inc for the next step: stripping the entire basement and rebuilding it while adding a bathroom and a laundry room. Yet again, we were happy with the work performed and the professionalism of Luis and his crew and the subcontractors. Once the basement was finished and an additional bathroom was available in the basement, we tackled phase three: renovation of the first floor bathroom and kitchen (while our daughter continued to live there), which was recently completed to our full satisfaction. Our compliments also go to Allison in the office who does an outstanding job keeping in touch with customers. No phone call ever remained un-returned and no e-mail un-answered. Since my husband and I live currently in a different state, it was especially important to be able to communicate by phone, e-mail or text message. The house was built in 1946, so we anticipate that more work will need to be done in the future. Right now, we are taking a break, but eventually we'll continue with renovations and it's a good feeling that Gaudioso Inc will be there to help us. One last comment: I noticed that their overall "A" rating contains one "B" under the "cost" rubric. I disagree with that "B". I think the old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true especially in construction. We want to be confident that everybody who works on our property is licensed and insured. It was also important to us to be able to find on-line reviews such as the ones on Angie's List here. Three other contractors we considered at the very beginning back in 2016 came in with lower offers but were difficult to communicate with or impossible to research."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on material, size, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or seating.

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

British architect John Nash is credited with creating the Italianate style of architecture. The style was further popularized in the U.S. by landscape architect Andrew Jackson Downing and architect Calvert Vaux. The style spread across the U.S. due to Downing’s popular book on the style and the availability of plans and materials due to the mass production of the Industrial Revolution.

You don’t have to commit to a complete home renovation to age in place comfortably—those can get pricey. Instead, focus on a few impactful changes. Consider adding a stair lift or installing ramps to eliminate barriers. Upgrading to non-slip flooring can prevent falls while adding brighter lighting can improve visibility throughout your home. These thoughtful updates can make your home much easier to navigate and enhance your comfort and safety without the stress and cost of a complete overhaul.
