"I had All Service pack and move my home. Packing took one day, loading and unloading took a second day. Both days, the teams were on time and did a terrific job. Total cost of the move was under their estimate."

"Ample team flawlessly moved our baby grand piano and some furniture. Ivan and his teammates were punctual, fast, and careful with our belongings. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was protected enough and in a flash everything was in its place in the new house. There were a lot of stairs but no complaints but no complaints."

"The crew from Xpress Relocations Moving were fantastic. From the time they arrived to the time they finished, they were fast, courteous and thorough. They worked well as a team and never wasted a minute. The furniture was carefully handled and each piece properly wrapped before going on the truck. They were great about moving some pieces to different delivery destinations. Unpacking and set up was fast and EVERYTHING arrived in perfect condition. Xpress Relocations Moving was recommended to me by another extremely satisfied (and repeat) customer. I would recommend them 100%. Making the arrangements with their office was so fast and easy as well. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations."

Moving questions, answered by experts

In Queens, it’s smart to schedule moving projects once you have confirmed move-in dates and coordinated with your building’s management. Plan around local school calendars and lease cycles, which often peak in late summer. Booking local movers at least a month in advance helps secure your preferred date, especially during spring and fall when weather and availability are optimal for moving in Queens.

Helpful?

When hiring moving pros in Queens, prioritize companies familiar with local parking rules, building move-in restrictions, and navigating narrow streets common in neighborhoods like Astoria or Jackson Heights. Ask if they handle elevator reservations and if they’re prepared for multi-story walk-ups. Always request written estimates from several local movers, confirm insurance coverage, and clarify any extra charges for stairs, long carries, or parking challenges unique to Queens.

Helpful?

For minor moving tasks in Queens, start by sorting and packing items room by room, using sturdy boxes and labeling for each destination. Check with your building about move-in hours or elevator use, as some require advance notice. Be mindful of street cleaning schedules and alternate side parking rules. For heavy furniture or navigating tight stairwells, consider hiring local movers to prevent injury or property damage.

Helpful?

In Queens, moving a studio or one-bedroom typically takes 4-6 hours, while two- or three-bedroom homes often require 6-10 hours, depending on building access and elevator availability. Larger homes or those with multiple flights of stairs may take longer. Traffic, parking, and building regulations can extend timelines, and cross-borough or long-distance moves may span several days due to logistics and travel distance.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Queens should factor in traffic congestion near major thoroughfares, bridge or tunnel access, and neighborhood-specific parking restrictions. Some buildings require move-in deposits or proof of insurance from your moving company. In areas like Forest Hills, narrow streets and limited parking can complicate logistics. Additionally, Queens’ diverse communities may observe different holidays, so coordinate your moving date to avoid unexpected delays.
