"Thank you Aaron and Bob for another excellent joy with another window project. We are equally thrilled with the workmanship of the installation and the quality of our new window as we were the last time you did a big window job for us. We appreciate your professionalism and dependability."

"Hi. The person that came to replace my window was very professional first got me the estimate then in 2 days came to replace my window after ordering. Then call me to let me he was coming. Process was fast and efficient and price very economic. I call other places they won’t answer and leave message and after a week they call me when my window was changed already. I recommend Duraglass their job was efficient and fast."

"Excellent workmanship and products I have had three installations with Power in the past two years. I first used them for a new roof and gutters. The workers were all knowledgeable in their area of work. Clean up was good although some nails kept showing up over time. Next I had the 2nd floor windows and some 1st floor windows replaced, 9 in total. Installation went well and they cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I love the windows! They are a beautiful and energy efficient product. Lastly, I recently had a bay window replaced in my kitchen with the same type window. The workers ere all friendly and explained what would be done. The area was draped with plastic to cut down on dust. Clean up was excellent inside and outside! The window is beautiful and the framing on the outside of the window matches the other windows and the small roof above the bay window was replaced with the same roofing as the rest of the house. I would choose them again for any future projects."

Windows questions, answered by experts

In Queens, you’ll find window replacement specialists, historic window restoration experts, and contractors focused on insulated glass or storm window installation. Some general contractors and handyman services also offer window repair. Manufacturer-certified installers are available for specific products. Choosing the right type depends on whether you’re updating a pre-war home, restoring original features, or seeking energy-efficient upgrades for a modern property.

Helpful?

For window service in Queens, vinyl and fiberglass frames are popular for their durability and energy efficiency, especially in high-rise apartments. Wood-clad windows suit historic homes, blending classic style with modern insulation. Double-pane or triple-pane insulated glass helps reduce street noise and improve comfort. Look for ENERGY STAR certified options, quality weatherstripping, and argon gas fills to handle Queens’ variable climate and urban environment.

Helpful?

In Queens, homes with brick exteriors, non-standard window sizes, or original steel frames—common in pre-war buildings—often require custom solutions. Look for uneven sills, cracked masonry, or sagging lintels, which can complicate window installation. Multi-story buildings may need special equipment, and co-ops or landmark districts often require extra approvals. Tight lot lines and limited street access can also impact scheduling and project logistics.

Helpful?

When hiring window service pros in Queens, prioritize those with experience in local window repair and replacement, especially for brownstones or co-ops. Confirm they understand local building codes and have insurance. Ask about their process for handling debris removal and access in tight urban spaces. Reliable contractors should provide references from Queens residents and offer clear timelines, especially for projects in multi-story or historic buildings.

Helpful?

In Queens, if you notice persistent drafts, foggy insulated glass, or water stains after storms—especially in pre-war buildings or co-ops—these are strong indicators window service may need to be redone. Windows that stick, have chipped masonry around the frame, or show signs of mold are also common in older Queens homes. Unusual street noise or sudden spikes in energy bills often signal failing seals or poor window replacement work.
