Customers say: Super punctual

"Anthony is exceptional at his work. He knows right away what needs to be done when you explain the problems. He's also a straight shooter with you on what to do with larger problems to ensure you're using your money properly on how to fix them, which I can appreciate in someone who is thinking more of the well-being of the person/family and their future at that home. I would definitely hire him again for future plumbing matters."

Customers say: Quality work

"We hired Angelo to help us correct plumbing errors of an earlier contractor, get gas service restored and to assist in removing a stop work order. I had other plumbers refuse to take the work because of the complexity - not of the plumbing work but the administrative requirements. I was lost until I found Hydraulics Mechanical. Angelo and team came and gave me an estimate and worked with my expeditor, department of buildings and ConEd, both administratively and on-site, to get the work completed. The bureaucracy involved made this a frustrating and time consuming project, but Tina and Angelo stuck with us to align all the players, work orders, regulations etc. to successfully complete the work. I trusted Tina's guidance throughout the process and Angelo went to bat for us with ConEd and DOB inspectors - and their work was excellent too. I give them my highest recommendation - they are the BEST!"

Customers say: True professional

"I had an excellent experience with this plumber. I called them for a severely clogged drain that was causing water to back up, and they responded quickly and professionally. The plumber arrived on time, inspected the issue, explained the cause of the clog, and fixed it efficiently. What impressed me most was their professionalism, honesty, and attention to detail. They made sure the drain was completely cleared, tested everything before leaving, and left the work area clean. The pricing was fair, and there were no surprise charges. If you’re looking for a reliable plumber for clogged drains or any plumbing issue, I highly recommend their services. Fast response, quality work, and outstanding customer service. I would use them again in the future."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Before starting drain cleaning in NY, check if the work requires DOB permits or if you need to address HPD violations. For co-ops, secure board approval and notify management. If excavation is possible, contact 811 to mark utility lines. Always verify your contractor has experience with specific Queens building types and confirm their availability of specialized equipment for older plumbing systems to prevent surprises.

Helpful?

Before starting plumbing work in Queens, confirm permit requirements with the NYC Department of Buildings and determine if Department of Environmental Protection approval is needed. Review your building's rules, especially for co-ops or condos, and schedule inspections in advance. Assess your home's age to anticipate issues like outdated pipes or asbestos, and communicate with building management to avoid delays related to access or compliance.

Helpful?

In Queens, most plumbing work—such as new installations, major repairs, or water heater replacements—requires a plumbing permit issued by the NYC Department of Buildings. Only a licensed master plumber can file for these permits. Projects often need inspections at both the rough-in and final stages, and certain jobs may also require Department of Environmental Protection approval, especially if connecting to city water or sewer lines.

Helpful?

In Queens, be wary of plumbers who lack a valid NYC master plumber license, cannot provide proof of insurance, or avoid written estimates. Quotes that seem unusually low may indicate non-compliance with Queens plumbing regulations or shortcuts that risk failing inspections. Always request local references and ensure the professional is familiar with NYC Department of Buildings permit and inspection processes for your project's safety and legality.

Helpful?

To keep a drain cleaning family-friendly in Queens, schedule work during school hours and secure pets away from the area, especially in smaller apartments. Opt for enzyme-based cleaners over harsh chemicals, as ventilation can be limited in dense housing. Be aware that homes built before 1980 may have asbestos-wrapped pipes, so professional handling is essential for safety. Have bottled water ready if the main needs shutting off.
