"We just bought the house and when I walked up the front walkway, found water pouring off the roof.  We are new to the area so went immediately to Angie's List.  I called a local place with 98 reviews and an A rating, but they could not fit me in for about a week.  They said ACS was the only place their techs would recommend.  ACS had only 17 reviews but they were also A rated so I called and spoke with Tiani.  She was great and said they could have someone out today between 5 and 6 (on a Friday of a holiday weekend) to tell me if there was a split water line.  She then called back and said the tech (Mario) finished early on a previous job and could be here around 4:15.  He was here by 4:30.  Mario spent some time on the roof and determined the cause.  The A/C unit is 27 years old (which I know to be true from a home inspection by a licensed real estate inspector.)  The fact that the unit is so old and is still even working is a miracle, especially in Arizona.  He said we could invest the $400 to fix the defroster, or live with some harmless dripping water and replace the unit later.  We have elected to invest in a more modern and efficient unit this coming year.  Mario was very professional and did a good job explaining our options.  Especially after 5pm on a Friday.  We plan to have ACS come back out for a quote as I'm sure we're living on borrowed time with the unit.
