"I found Greg here on Home Advisor, and his reviews seemed almost too good to be true. They were totally accurate, though: Greg is personable, professional, and reliable. In short, he's a good guy who has a good crew that does excellent work. Some contractors do good work but aren't that dependable, but Greg is great on both counts. I highly recommend him (and plan to use him again soon myself!)."

"Dave and his crew had renovated our kitchen a couple years ago, and we were excited to have them back to redo a basement kitchenette, which had been built into a closet. Dave responded very quickly and came by to give an estimate. We began coordinating the materials and design. Dave had great recommendations for cabinets and tile. The job went very smooth and fast. We love the new kitchenette!"

"Nunez construction was extremely professional and reliable. I've hired them for painting and other cosmetic repairs on several occasions and was always pleased with the results. They work faster than many other GCs. I would recommend to anyone looking for a home refresh"

"I love my new kitchen!  It looks amazing.  My apartment went from an apartment that I like to my dream apartment during this renovation.  This is my first time renovating so it's hard to compare to other companies, but the kitchen looks great from the cabinet moldings to the backsplash and floor tiles.
George is a great person to work with.  He is very responsive and easy to communicate with, which means that you can solve problems before they occur and ensure that you get exactly what you want.  For example, I wasn't that happy with the way the sides of the cabinets looked, and through talking to George we were able to get decorating doors that finished the sides of the cabinets in a similar fashion as the front of the cabinets, which I love and made a big difference in how happy I am with the kitchen.  When I was picking out my counter and sink I saw a double-sink that I really loved (hadn't thought of getting a double-sink previously).  In order to fit it in the kitchen, we would have to readjust the measurements and take out a little less wall than we had originally planned, but George's response was "yes we can make it work."  He also helped and gave me guidance with picking out materials as I know little about this and was a bit overwhelmed by the process, which I really appreciated.  George responds very quickly to emails and phone calls and looks to make his customers happy.
They finished on time and within the budget that was originally estimated.  Again, this is my first project, but the word on the street is that this is rare.  EliteTech was also the least expensive of the six estimates that I received (only of contractors with good reviews on Angie's List) and had the shortest timeline (3-4 weeks) of the contractors that gave me a timeline estimate.  Interestingly enough, he was also the first one to respond and give me an estimate.  I went on to take another 1.5 months to get 5 other estimates only to come back to the first one!
There was a slight drip under the sink after they completed the renovation, but he sent someone back to fix it immediately upon hearing this from me and I haven't had a problem since.  My one other complaint is that one of cabinet drawers doesn't fit exactly right - when you close it there is a bit of a gap on one end so it's not completely flush.  This is the fault of the cabinet suppliers not EliteTech but when I noticed it EliteTech told me they could fix it.  They made it a little better, but it still doesn't fit exactly right.  That said, it's not a big deal, most people will probably never notice this, and I did buy less expensive cabinets.
Overall, these guys are great and I would use them again.

"In 2016 we purchased a semi-detached two-family home in a neighborhood in Queens, NYC. The house needed major renovations and we count ourselves very fortunate to have selected Gaudioso Inc. as our contractor. In a first phase, Luis and his crew renovated the first floor rooms, did repairs on the brick walls outside and replaced the garage roof and the patio roof. We were pleased with the result and decided to continue with Gaudioso Inc for the next step: stripping the entire basement and rebuilding it while adding a bathroom and a laundry room. Yet again, we were happy with the work performed and the professionalism of Luis and his crew and the subcontractors. Once the basement was finished and an additional bathroom was available in the basement, we tackled phase three: renovation of the first floor bathroom and kitchen (while our daughter continued to live there), which was recently completed to our full satisfaction. Our compliments also go to Allison in the office who does an outstanding job keeping in touch with customers. No phone call ever remained un-returned and no e-mail un-answered. Since my husband and I live currently in a different state, it was especially important to be able to communicate by phone, e-mail or text message. The house was built in 1946, so we anticipate that more work will need to be done in the future. Right now, we are taking a break, but eventually we'll continue with renovations and it's a good feeling that Gaudioso Inc will be there to help us. One last comment: I noticed that their overall "A" rating contains one "B" under the "cost" rubric. I disagree with that "B". I think the old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true especially in construction. We want to be confident that everybody who works on our property is licensed and insured. It was also important to us to be able to find on-line reviews such as the ones on Angie's List here. Three other contractors we considered at the very beginning back in 2016 came in with lower offers but were difficult to communicate with or impossible to research."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.

The process involves initial consultation, concept development, detailed planning, regulatory approvals, and integration of contractor work for project execution.

Dekton is worth the money for homeowners who want a nonporous countertop that resists heat, stains, water, scratches, and UV damage. It comes in a wide array of colors and patterns at various price points to suit different renovation budgets. Dekton is not worth the cost for homeowners who are particularly worried about chipping or cracking.

Yes, integrating sustainable practices and energy efficiency into plans is common.

A split-level home is one that has several staggered floors connected by short staircases, while a split floor plan separates the primary bedroom from the rest of the bedrooms. Split floor plans are most often found in single-story homes, while split-level homes are always at least two stories.
