Small jobs welcome

"Jason Perna of Perna Construction is a master of his craft. Jason remodeled our kitchen and bathroom, repaired and resanded flooring, and repainted our apartment. He and his employees were totally knowledgeable about every phase of the remodeling. He put in new sheet rock in the bathroom and kitchen. Jason ordered new custom cabinets for the kitchen that are beautifully made. The tile work in the bathroom is perfect. When it came to the paint job, Jason analyzed the ceiling and determined it had became bumpy from heat and smoke from the fire in an adjacent apartment. He sanded the ceiling first before laying down the correct primer for fire damage. In all, our apartment was a big job and Jason Perna did a fantastic remodeling. He’s also a terrifically nice guy."

"Excellent contractors! We keep hiring them. They are extremely efficient. And they do it all. They worked on our bk condo by adding a staircase and building a second floor from scratch., as well as a total kitchen remodel. They also did a complete cosmetic update renovation to my mom’s house in queens. You know you have great contractors when you go back to them to get more work done."

"I hired BEX contracting to paint my apartment. The process was a breeze, they provided COI as well as a fair and clear proposal. The team was clean and neat. They carefully covered our furniture and protected it during the paint. We are very happy with the outcome and highly recommend BEX Contracting."

"We did a gut renovation of a lovely two-bedroom, two-bathroom on the Upper East Side, and to save money, we hired a series of contractors to take care of different things - one for plumbing, one for electrical work, etc.  George and his team were there for skim coating the walls, painting, installing the kitchen cabinets and doors, and various other carpentry work.
George and his team did an amazing job!  Not only did they provide high-quality professional service at a very reasonable price, but George himself also advised and suggested changes along the way, and noticed when our other contractors were messing things up.  His advice saved us tons of time and trouble!  Big renovations can be very stressful (especially for a first-time owner) but he put us at our ease with his expertise, and was there for us when we needed him, and then some.
He and his team did really amazing work.  When there were mistakes (because there will ALWAYS be mistakes, no matter how skilled the contractor), he was happy to come back and fix things.   We kept asking him back to do other things that we thought of as the renovation went on - could you make cabinets for us?  Could you install the towel bars?  And he was always happy to take care of it, and the job was completed well and for a very reasonable price.
The next time we do a renovation, we're hiring him to be a general contractor, and putting him in charge of everything."

"Anush and his team were absolutely amazing, and our porch turned out better than we expected thanks to his ideas/recommendations. The attention to detail/pride they take in their work truly stand out and far exceeded our experiences with contractors in the past. One of my favorite parts is how much I genuinely love coming home now. It completely changed the look and feel of the front of our house, and every time I pull into the driveway it makes me happy to see it. I will absolutely be recommending AVSTEP to anyone planning renovations or building a home. We already have several more projects planned for our house in the coming months, and without question we’ll be using Anush and his team again. It’s such a great feeling to know we now have a contractor we genuinely trust and can confidently call whenever we need work done. Even our neighbors have been commenting on how beautiful the front of our house looks and what an incredible job they did. Below are the before and after pictures"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Federal architecture is most common in urban areas throughout the New England states, including the older parts of New York, Pennsylvania (namely, Boston and Philadelphia), Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The style also dominated in parts of Georgia in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, so many historical homes in the area embody this home design. Salem, MA, has two historic districts that predominantly feature this architectural style: Chestnut Street District and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.

Yes, custom designs match existing structural and aesthetic themes.

Professionals optimize layouts, improve energy efficiency, and ensure structural safety and compliance.
