"Awesome service! Tyler was extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He had communicated that the repair we needed was going to be an expensive part and the quote we were given matched the actual cost. However, the replacement part will give us better functionality. He also looked at our washing machine and said he didn't think it needed a repair at this time but explained why one noise was happening. Overall, I was impressed with his knowledge and friendly professionalism. Definitely call this company if you need appliance repair!"

"Daniel was really good. He was thorough, knowledgeable and left the work area very clean. He gave us a quote for the work that needed to be done and discussed the merits of spending that much on an older machine. We decided not to do the repair, but will definitely call this company for any future appliance repairs."

"He did not have the parts needed to complete the repair. I paid $140 down and will pay another $140 when the parts come in to be installed. There are several parts needed and the labor is also figured into the total cost. I'm saving about $100.00 by not buying a new unit. The tech was very knowledgeable and professional. His company is one of the few that work on microwaves."

"The technician was friendly and did a good job.  It take a while to get the technician to return and fix the toilets as the parts were not readily available.  I would use this company again as they are friendly and responsive.

"It went very well. Mr. Finch was easy to talk to  in scheduling the repair. Sean who did the work was on time and very thorough, even working with me so that I could clean under the appliances while he had them pulled out of their usual spot. I appreciated that.
He was professional and courteous. One area that leaked the next day was attended to immediately and was due to a faulty valve which Sean replaced. Mr. Finch and Sean both reassured me that if anything happened to their work in the future that they would attend to it.

"I have relied on Ole's Appliance Repair for more than 16 years for all of my appliance issues. Patrick has regularly proven himself to be efficient, reliable and honest. Today, he performed at $200 repair that saved me from spending close to $2000 for a new refrigerator to replace my 16 year old model. I trust his reasonable advice about when it's worth repairing something and when it's not.  I recommend him without reservation.

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

Some types of electric fireplaces use more electricity than others. Models that produce 1,500 watts will have more of an effect on your heating bill than 750-watt models.

Electric fireplaces use an average of $1.85 of electricity every eight hours. These minimal operational costs aren’t likely to make a big difference in your electric bill—unless you’re using it as a primary heating source for your home and it’s running most of the time.

Air fryers rely on hot air circulating around the food to create that signature crispy finish from frying, while deep fryers cook food in hot oil that has been heated to a specific temperature. Air fryers require little or no oil, while deep fryers require a lot of oil, much of which is absorbed into the food. Both methods cook food so it comes out crispy and juicy, but they don’t taste the same—deep-fried foods are often coated in a batter before being fried.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

The appliances that frequently experience problems are the appliances that get used the most and have to deal with strong forces. These forces, like doors slamming, are a common cause of issues with washers, dryers, ovens, and dishwashers. Couple that with the fact that these are usually the most used appliances in a house, issues can compound quickly. Fridges, clothes washers and dryers, and dishwashers are appliances that see the most issues.

Appliance installation costs around $200 on average, and most installations total between $75 and $600. Some cost factors to consider that can increase your price toward the higher end of that range include the following:

  • You need to pay for long-distance delivery.

  • Your installers need to maneuver up or down stairs or around tight corners.

  • Your appliance needs to be connected to a natural gas line or water line.

  • Your appliance requires extra parts for a proper connection, like an ice maker hook-up kit.

  • Your appliance is oversized.
