 + -1 moreThe week they (DKG) were supposed to start it rained for almost 3 straight days and they could not tear off the roof until Wednesday late afternoon when the rain quit and they finally were able to start. I could only be at my home until Tuesday of the following week. DKG worked through the weekend to make sure the roof was first dried in, and then shingled....before I left on Tuesday. They went out of their way to accommodate me, their customer.. One minor seam leak occurred three or four years later which DKG promptly came out and repaired at no charge. It has not leaked since.This and the rest of the way DKG handled the job shows me true professionalism as, for example, they could have easily covered up the rotted decking... A+++ I would use them again!
Description of Work: Complete tear-off and re-felting of two pitched roofs (1st story and 2nd story) and one flat deck roof on my home with replacement of any bad plywood decking. The two pitched roofs received 40 year dimensional shingles (85 mph rating). To this date (Feb.24, 2010) I have not lost a single shingle to extreme East Mountain area winds or other weather events. A modified bitumen torch-on roof was applied to the flat deck roof, after some decking was replaced and some joists were spliced and replaced (because of dry rot from the old leaky flat deck) and run up under the bottom several rows of shingles of shingles on the first story pitched roof.

 + -1 moreNo major issues either during the work or after! It was done in two afternoons. I think 5 4'x8' decking sheets were replaced during the job. There was one minor leak at a roof differential joint that became evident later that summer when the rainy season started and it was promptly repaired at no charge. Two years after that a minor seam leak sprang up in a different area and that was also repaired at no charge. There have been no issues since (as of Feb. 24, 2010)
Description of Work: Partial tear-off of 1800 sq. ft. detached garage flat roof, with replacement of rotted decking and application across entire roof area of a reflectively-coated white EPDM (rubber) type roof similar to the torch-on I had installed on the flat roof of the main house. The job went without incident. Note: I had the job estimated by 5 area roofers. Most wanted to do the work with a tar and mop traditional flat roof construction style. I wanted some kind of more modern roofing method. No matter what I thought about the proposed methods, all the estimates were way high from my experience! And then I thought, I would try DKG since they had done the 3 roofs on my main house 6 years before. Not only did their estimate come in well under the other estimates, but they also wanted to apply a roofing system that I was interested in getting!! And... they also had no complaints either on Angie's List or on BBB!

 + -1 moreTHEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB REPLACING MY OLD ROOF WITH A NEW ONE. THEY KNEW EXACTLY HOW TO REMOVE AN OLD ADOBE ROOF AND PLACE A NEW ONE ON TOP. THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB ON THE MELTING OF THE SIDES AS WELL!
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED A NEW ROOF ONTO MY HOME.
