"Remote appliance repair is a great idea, and is something I have wanted for a long time! This diagnosis went great. The issue was understood and the solution explained clearly after they walked me through removing of the pump. Doing it over video chat worked really well."

"Work and repairs went very well. Tim not only did the work needed, but went above and beyond and serviced all the door seals too, just to make sure the machine would continue to operate as expected into the future. Would not hesitate to use this outfit again for appliance repair work."

"Daniel was really good. He was thorough, knowledgeable and left the work area very clean. He gave us a quote for the work that needed to be done and discussed the merits of spending that much on an older machine. We decided not to do the repair, but will definitely call this company for any future appliance repairs."

"He did not have the parts needed to complete the repair. I paid $140 down and will pay another $140 when the parts come in to be installed. There are several parts needed and the labor is also figured into the total cost. I'm saving about $100.00 by not buying a new unit. The tech was very knowledgeable and professional. His company is one of the few that work on microwaves."

"Provider stopped by a week prior to take a look at what had to be done. So when he came to do the work, he had the proper parts. The shower needed a new cartridge. He showed me the old one, compared to the new one and explained why it was leaking. On the toilet, the seal had been replaced 6 years ago under the home warranty but it started leaking in the front - left and right sides. The earlier leak had been behind the toilet. He showed me the new seal after it was installed and explained just what he had done. He said if there was a small crack in the toilet itself, it was hard to detect but sometimes that happened. It looked to be okay on Friday, the day he did the repair. Then on Saturday there was a small amount of dampness behind the toilet - also on Sunday. It would have been undetectable unless you were looking for it and I did not feel that it was a cracked toilet. I checked again on Monday and every day since, and it is completely dry."

Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

The easiest way to dispose of your stove is likely to call a junk removal service, which can carry it away for a fee. If you have a truck of your own (and a strong enough group of companions), you may be able to deliver it to your local appliance recycling center yourself.

There are several things to avoid packing into your storage container to reduce the risk of damage or danger. This includes weapons, ammunition, and combustible, flammable, or toxic items, such as gasoline, fireworks, or chemicals. Perishable items, such as plants or food (except for canned goods), are also a no-go, as are damp goods.

Many refrigerators have a dial with numbers ranging from 1 to 5 or 1 to 10, with the lower numbers representing colder temperatures and the higher numbers representing higher temperatures. For a fridge with a dial that goes up to 5, most homeowners find 3 or 4 to be the ideal temperature setting, and 6 to 8 is usually best if yours goes up to 10. It’s a good idea to get a fridge thermometer to monitor your fridge temperature, as not all appliances are the same, and internal thermometers aren’t always entirely accurate.

DIY repairs for small appliances are possible for minor or basic issues, provided you have the right tools and safe handling skills. It is important to assess the complexity of the repair before starting. While DIY can be an option, professional services ensure proper diagnostics and long-term reliability.

One way to reduce the cost of a new appliance is to look for sales and buy on certain holidays, like Memorial Day weekend and Black Friday. If you don’t mind a blemish or two on the appliance, look for scratch-and-dent units, which are often available at a significant bargain.
