Was quoted $155 for the tankless water heater cleaning and was ultimately billed $575 despite nothing major being wrong with the unit. The companies billing practices are dishonest and the owner Curtis takes no accountability for it. It appears that the company takes longer than necessary to complete jobs to bill for additional hours of labor.

Curt and his team are great.  I supplied the tankless water heater and they installed.  Curt also fixed the bad job done that was previously the piping for the existing water softener.  The difference in quality of work is amazing compared to the previous plumber...I guess the difference can be simply said as "a professional vs. your run of the mill plumber".
Petroglyph is definitely more expensive than other problems...but what is your time and sanity worth knowing the job will be done just about perfect and knowing this plumber actually knows what they are doing.
I will use them again in the future and I would recommend them to anyone.

Went great...radiant system now heats properly in zones.  Kirt is extremely knowledgeable and acutally knows what he is doing.  It is pretty scary to know that other radiant plumber contractors are licensed and really have neither the skill or the knowledge to properly install so that it works, is efficient, and a long term solution.
Kirt is definitely not cheap, but if you want the job done right and deal with someone that is professional then use his company.

Badly. They could not provide an estimate after promising multiple times, to do so. I must have called at least 3 times to tell them I never got my estimate and each time, after apologizing profusely, they promised to get it to me the following week which never happened. Big waste of my time. These guys suck.

They had to come twice because everything wasn't working after the first time. Gave a two hour window in which they would come and I did not receive a call until 20 minutes after they were already supposed to be here BOTH times! 30 minutes late the first time and over an hour late the second time! They redid a sweat fitting and left metal scraps all over the floor where I have an infant crawling around. You actually have to pay $130 an hour because a master plumber and an apprentice come out. Not very friendly.  Redid a sweat fitting on one of our baseboard heaters and relit the boiler and charged over $200!  Then had to come back because the heaters upstairs weren't working because there was too much air in the system.  They claim it wasn't their fault but everything was working fine before they came the first time and then we had to pay another $350 for them to come again to get the air out of the system!

"We truly apologize that your experience with Petroglyph Plumbing and Heating was so uncomfortable. We understand that there is no excuse for at least not calling prior to our window of arrival that we are going to be late. I did apologize upon arrival and you mentioned there was no problem. There’s also no excuse for leaving bits of solder upstairs and had you advised us having missed this after completion of work we certainly would have immediately cleaned it up or had you mentioned it on the second trip, we would have apologized after you had to clean it up. We, of course, would have no idea where your infant crawls. Even though we are meticulous in describing on our invoice services provided, they somehow appeared minimized in your comments leading to a lack of value of services truly provided for the price. Additional trips typically are the result of the service provider trying to save money for the homeowner on the first trip. If problems still persist, a second trip is required and the second trip charge is waived so as if it is billed as a single trip. There are some issues, like in your case with the introduction of air into your system, that the function of time can resolve and it seems irresponsible and unprofessional to have a client pay for unnecessary services. Oftentimes due to preexisting conditions, as in your case – noisy baseboard operations due to air, corroded air vent, and inadequate isolation and purge valves - this becomes compounded and would require significant additional cost to resolve secondary issues as a result of the primary issue. As for being unfriendly, that’s a first for us and we apologize and have no explanation outside of feeling a little under the weather due to a cold and our desire to resolve your issue quickly due to our late arrival. I appreciate the time spent in your review and fortunately a review like this is rare in over ten years of business. Unfortunately since they are rare, this is very unsettling for us. We hope you will accept our apology and if you need references to demonstrate that this was an anomaly, we would love to provide them in case you would consider us for any additional service."

They have come out twice, I have spent at least 800 thus far and it still doesn't work. They gave me an estimate that if they had to come back out it would cost be over 3000 to repair. I now have to get a new water heater. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
Response from Petroglyph Plumbing & Heating Inc
"Thank you for your recent review of our service with you. Unfortunately in this matter, we do not make the equipment, we did not install the equipment, nor do we own the equipment. You hired us to perform a service on your tank-less water heater, which was not covered under warranty due to the age of the product, and to our dismay it was improperly installed initially. We offered necessary steps in attempts to fix the situation as suggested by the manufacturer along with estimates of the pricing that would be charged. You then stated that you would perform the removal and installation of a tank type water heater yourself, and made no mention that you were unsatisfied with the services we performed. Our pricing was in line with the services perform as you can see from our past we do have a history of great service."

They arrived and called the manufacturer and got the part covered under warranty that was actually expired but the second time within a year we had experienced the same problem. The part arrived quickly and they are coming back to install it.

Curtis came in the 2 hour window that the office scheduled him for which was the same morning i called. He was professional and a great communicator. He brought an apprentice and together they got the jobs done at a very fair price.
I forgot to give him the Angie's coupon and when he saw it on the table, he took the 10% off  and re-did the billi.. I will certainly call Petroglyph again and will have them do our annual boiler service too.

Very professional approach to troubleshooting even though my system has a few quirks. He checked the water replenishment valve which was frozen and replaced it. He also had to cutout and replace the pressure relief valve so it could be easily replaced next time. He then fired up the heater and flushed the system (and showed me how to do it next time). He then replaced 3 bad solenoid valves with the new type (melts paraffin  to "open" & allow circulation in that leg of the house). Very clean work the whole time. Charged a little more than I expected but did a very thorough job. Would use him again.

Before he left my home he asked me how much I was going to pay for the unit I wanted installed , so I pulled up a web site that had the A. O. Smith Vertex 100 listed for sale. He left saying that he would getting back to me in a few days. That was on a Saturday. Never heard back from him on the bid. I waited two weeks and then called and spoke to a woman about it. She said that she would tell him but he never gave me a bid. I can assume that he did not want to install the product since I was able to get it shipped from Peco Supply cheaper than he could purchase it for locally. So, I guess what I am saying is that he should of said that he did not want to do the job if I was supplying my own unit. Found a contractor that installed the above mentioned unit and have had no problems.

Recommended by Water Furnace, Geothermal HVAC/hot water system manufacturer.  Did an annual service.  Did not have any maintenance for almost 3 years.  System required removing an air pocket from geothermal loop.  Petroglyph was thorough, professional and complete.  Water heater had dissimilar metals on many parts and corrosion was evident.  Petroglyph pointed this out and replaced all parts.  Old parts retained to report code violations to the State.

Plan to use them to service my AprilAire whole house humidifier when it goes kaput.
