"Brought in to investigate a leak. It turns out the leak was from a defective shower faucet cartridge. However rather than checking the source first the plumber made holes in ceiling (below). I think had he just turned on the shower faucet he'd found the issue and avoided the need for me to repair the sheetrock."

"Great, called Jason in the evening with our emergency and he was able to get a team out to our house the next day. Ended up discovering and taking care of multiple issues. Each step of the way Jim and team walked me through the issues and options with cost estimates and pro and cons. While we ended up spending more than we hoped due to the age and state of the system, we are thankful to All American Septic for the timely and thorough work they did, including clean up and leaving our yard in as good of shape as possible."

"I had put out a request on Nextdoor for a plumber who has access to use of Hydro jets. Nick, at Quick Drain, was highly recommended with a write up that “he’s done some work for York Properties, and he’s one of the best service people I’ve ever worked with”. We called him up and he promptly came out to take care of our drainage problems. He’s a workhorse! Cleaning out drains (even having to access one from the roof as we did not have a clean out), inspecting drains with his camera, and cleaning up after himself! He also recommended another company who could install a cleanup for our old house. Could not be more pleased with this young man’s fine, professional service !"

"Wesley was amazing! I had surgery scheduled the next day and Wesley went ahead and used the key in the lock box to go in the house I just purchased and give me an estimate on my plumbing issue. He called me before my surgery. We agreed on the price and he did the work! About a week after my surgery he drove out of his way to met near my house where I paid him! He is my new plumber!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can have a toilet without a septic tank. However, it will have to be a composting toilet. Composting toilets work similarly to aerobic septic systems in that the waste, which sits in a separate compartment below the toilet itself, is slowly broken down by aerobic bacteria. These toilets typically have a vent to get rid of harmful gasses with a fan, which requires a battery. You will have to dispose of waste in the toilet manually every three weeks to every three months, depending on how many people are using the toilet.

Yes, a dripping faucet can increase your water bill. Leaking faucets use up more water than you’d think. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, a faucet that drips once per second can waste more than 3,000 gallons of water per year. If you have more than one dripping faucet, your water bill can increase even further.

Yes, a sprinkler system can leak even when it is turned off. This issue is often caused by a leaky valve, which may have a crack or hole that allows water to pass through. In many cases, repairing the valve will solve the problem. Another possibility is that water is simply finishing its draining cycle, which you might notice at the lowest sprinkler head as gravity pulls the remaining water out. More seriously, the leak could be due to improper grading of the system, which can lead to significant water waste. It's also possible that what appears to be a leak is actually just poor drainage in your yard. If you suspect a leak, it's a good idea to have a professional take a look to diagnose the exact cause.

Many parts of your plumbing system can fail, but clogged drains are one of the biggest plumbing problems you’ll likely encounter. From your kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or bathtub, there are plenty of opportunities for gunk, hair, food scraps, and more to get stuck in drains. When this happens, water will slowly drain, leading to standing water, bad odors, drain flies, and other issues.

Many homeowners can handle a minor clog themselves, but if you have a clog in your main line, you’re best off hiring a local plumber to get the drain back to its normal flow rate.

Common causes include hair buildup, soap residue, food particles, and foreign objects. Older pipes can also contribute by facilitating buildup more easily.
