"I needed to get an HVAC replacement for the original system in this house (18 years old) and had been putting it off the last few years with bandaids. Finally I decided I was going to replace my system. After doing some research Air Experts H&C stood out from the user reviews so I called them for an estimate. When Craig arrived he demonstrated great knowledge from the onset and was very thorough in walking through every aspect of the options and recommendations. I consulted some other options but ultimately I expected the best service and workmanship out of Air Experts so I went with them. They arrived on time, the technicans were respectful, efficient (worked all the way through until completion), and installed a quality product. "Called in these folks for a recurring problem with our 2nd floor AC unit leaking freon. Other vendors had investigated, but we had not yet come up with a consensus on the diagnosis. Very nice, very professional. First visit was unable to produce any insight, but I felt due diligence was quite thorough. A second appointment was setup to run a more thorough regression test. Unfortunately, it too was inconclusive. I felt they had done everything they could to diagnose a very tricky issue. Their final prognosis was that it had to be one of a couple of very rare and odd possibilities. Didn't feel too comfortable with this, but had no basis to argue. Total cost at this point between the two visits was $300 with no real progress. Eventually, we stumbled upon an excellent veteran AC repairman who investigated and confirmed an earlier hunch, and was able to explain why. We hired him to fix the problem, a leaky compressor coil (had to replace), and we've have never had a problem since. Now that we know what the issue was, I'd have to say I'm fairly disappointed with this vendor's performance. They firmly disputed the compressor coil as a possible cause. And we paid a decent amount of cash for this misdiagnosis. We'll stick with the guy who eventually fixed the problem as our AC repairman from here on out.

But when the service representative from Cape Fear Air Conditioning called me, she was able to fit me in the same day! It was very appreciated by me and my family, one less day to suffer without AC! "Happy they were available the next day and able to get AC unit up and running. Quote went up significantly at end of visit for us. Service time was an hour or less. Quoted $85 service visit and $175 for replacement of dual run capacitor ($25 for part, rest was expertise with install) I agreed and expected around $260 for bill. He asked to use my water hose to cool system and got things going. Next he went inside to test air flow vents and all was working. He then prepped the invoice and added $85 fee for cooling unit. Never discussed or mentioned there was a fee so I was surprised but he said it was the norm. Final bill $370. We needed air so glad it’s done. Also went into the backyard before I arrived then asked if it was ok. Fortunately I didn’t have any pets so it worked out and i was less than 5 minutes out. He ran over at first appt so he had a later arrival but it was in the window quoted. Stressful when our AC went out but thankful that we’re back up and working again."
