"Nick gave me a heads up as to when he would come and he showed up on time. I walked my yard after he finished and the yard was neat and tidy. He did a good job; I was pleased. Definitely recommend his service."

"I was getting quotes to maintain my property and Chris reached out immediately which I appreciated. He gave a reasonable quote but I never imagined they could tackle the yard on the same day! I was not able to be at the property at the time of the service. However, when the work was completed he sent pics of before and after, without my asking for them. The yard looks awesome compared to how overgrown it was. He even observed some overgrowth of shrubs and provided a quote for pruning, again without having to ask. Hands down excellent customer service!"

".29 acre lot with LOTS of sweetgum trees (and their attendant sweetgum balls that get stuck in your lawn and drive everyone crazy!). They walked the yard with me, picked up on what I wanted done, and got it all done in a fast, timely and THOROUGH manner. Great work!"

"Tough call. JP lawn care is friendly and hard working. However my experience with them was disappointing. I hired them to clean up my yard pre-sale. We walked through what plants should stay. Jarrett did a great job of clearing the weeds and mulching. But he also removed the exact established plants I want to keep. That mistake diminished my curb appeal, which will impact sales price. He was open to adjusting the price and apologetic but that doesn?t change the lost ? value."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Yes, especially for properties focusing on curb appeal. A well-maintained landscape supports visual and environmental attractiveness, potentially increasing desirability.

In general, expect to mulch your leaves about once or twice every fall. You want there to be a decent amount of leaves on the ground, but not too much where it’s difficult for the mower to cut through.

Water regularly, avoid heavy foot traffic, and clear debris promptly to support lawn health.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

Ultimately, pulling weeds vs. spraying them depends on what’s happening in your yard and your personal preferences. Manual weed removal doesn’t introduce any chemicals into your landscape, targets specific problematic plants, produces immediate results, can be free if you go the DIY route, and is inexpensive with a weed service if you only have a handful of weeds. On the other hand, spraying is often preferable for severe weed infestations and situations involving difficult-to-pull weeds because it treats multiple weeds at once, is usually more effective long-term, is less time-consuming, and costs less when done by a pro.
