"My prior water heater, a 50-gallon tank, started leaking after 15 years. I called Streamline to confirm that it needed replacement, and to replace it. I was considering a tankless water heater already, and the first tech walked me through the pros and cons, then wrote up an estimate. Two additional techs came the next day to install the heater and the necessary gas and power lines. The only issue I had was that one of the newly installed gas fittings leaked gas into the basement. I shut off the supply valve and called Streamline, and they came out within half an hour to fix it at their expense. Mistakes happen, and I was impressed with how professionally they corrected that one."

"Over-all the installation day went well - the crew was on time, prompt and very efficient. They installed the sump pump drain line without my knowledge and installed it over the property line. When my neighbor needed to install a fence, it took moths, multiple calls and finally threat of legal action to get them to come out and move the drain (which they promised to do at time of installation). The re-positioned drain work was so shoddy that I now have the drain sticking out of the ground and not properly draining; I will be calling them back again. In September 2013, I was told by another HVAC company that there was a leak at my AC coils and that I should replace the entire system. They also tried to sell me some sort of T and float switch. I don't recall what the purpose of this was, but I have gotten along just fine without it. I declined both recommendations and just had them add refrigerant. The system has worked fine for the most part ever since, but I have had some difficulty maintaining consistent temperature throughout the house and recently a drain outside at the rear of the house began dripping. So, I decided it was time for a check up since it had been a while.

I got the deal notice on Angie's List for Cape Fear and purchased it. Eddie arrived this morning and performed the following: cleaned the coils; flushed the main drain; fixed the damper aim and showed me how to set it for summer/winter for a two-story system; checked capacitors, conductor, amps, volts and electrical connection. I also needed a little less than a pound of refrigerant, which Eddie added. All of this for $49. He completed the service late morning and my house has been a very comfy 73 degrees throughout ever since!

One thing about the damper aim: I thought I knew how to adjust these for proper upstairs/downstairs air distribution according to the season. But... I discovered with Eddie that the builder (or previous AC technician) had labeled them wrong and I have been adjusting them completely the opposite of what I should have for a couple of years now! Also, Eddie informed me that the drain dripping outside at the rear of the house was an overflow drain. It has stopped dripping since Eddie flushed the main drain. 

Cape Fear has without a doubt earned a new customer with me. I'm even referring them to the president of our homeowners association to recommend to the other homeowners in my development. If you need any type of heating/AC work done, I HIGHLY recommend Cape Fear AC & Heating Company. Nice work, Eddie!

"JD was costly but the did a good job in a fast time period. They repaired a couple leaks in shower and sink; unclogged a drain; installed new faucets and a garbage disposal, all with some necessary demo. They were Professional, knowledgeable, unpretentious... I'd use them again for a similar job."
