"Job well done- professional and more competitively priced than a more well known name. I trusted what they recommended and did not feel that it was all about making money. I had a new electrical box installed as well as updated the house and installed the exterior shut off. Well done and highly recommend."

"We had five different things for Lou to fix, including a chandelier that needed to be lowered and made level. Lou rounded the oval links in the chain that held the chandelier and that made it level for the first time! He figured out why a ceiling fan was making noise and why another one wasn’t working at all. He also replaced part of our electric panel which had somehow gotten water inside and was corroded. We didn’t have the right part to change lights in our Faber stove hood, but Lou did, and quickly replaced them for us. We were really pleased with how knowledgeable and competent our electrician was and plan to call him again if we have any more electrical problems."

"Lowest price among multiple quotes and significantly more attention to detail and the least visible and least intrusive installation of new wiring from the existing panel. Would definitely recommend and use Mark H. Anderson Electrical Services again!"

"I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were hired to replace the main electrical panel/breakers at my elderly mother's home. Roni, the electrician, was a wonderful communicator, and was very knowledgeable and thorough in completing the job and in putting her at ease. The price was very reasonable. I will be using Nasr Electric in my own home, as well as recommending them to all my friends and family in the DMV area."

"The work went well as it was a very simple swap of light fixtures with no specialized work; however, the charge was $900. An additional $200 was charged to investigate dual switching. A 2 minute look at the switch determined that existing wiring was not in place. The net result is that I paid the electrician $275/hour for labor. I provided all materials. Shame on me for not getting competing estimates. I've since gotten estimates to replace the same light: one was $300 and the other $425. I contacted the service manager, but was not successful in getting a partial refund or any other remedy. Clinton Electric considers their pricing strategy to be fair. I disagree. My advice is to get competing quotes ALWAYS! Otherwise, you can expect to pay excessive labor rates with Clinton Electric."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Frederick, frequent mistakes include using incorrect wire gauge, failing to install GFCI outlets where required, and hiding junction boxes behind walls. Overloading circuits and neglecting to label electrical panels are also common errors. According to the Frederick City Building Department, these issues can lead to failed inspections and safety hazards, so following local code and consulting professionals is strongly advised.

Helpful?

Electrical systems in Frederick should be inspected annually by a licensed electrician, as advised by the Frederick City Building Department. Test GFCI outlets monthly, check circuit breakers for signs of wear, and ensure outdoor wiring is protected from moisture. After severe weather, inspect for storm damage. Keeping your system updated and maintained helps prevent hazards and ensures ongoing compliance with the Maryland Electrical Code.

Helpful?

In Frederick, most electrical projects require a permit from the Frederick City Building Department before starting any work. Both residential and commercial projects must follow the Maryland Electrical Code, and inspections are required at key stages. Homeowners may perform minor electrical work if they pass a qualifying exam and file an affidavit, as outlined by the Frederick City Building Department and the Maryland State Board of Master Electricians.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Frederick, using copper wiring is highly recommended due to its durability and compliance with local code. Choose weather-rated conduit and GFCI outlets for kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas, as required by the Maryland Electrical Code. Local electrical suppliers in Frederick often stock code-compliant junction boxes and tamper-resistant receptacles, which are essential for both safety and passing city inspections.

Helpful?

In Frederick, DIY electrical work may save money, but it poses risks such as failing inspections or violating the Maryland Electrical Code. Hiring a licensed Frederick electrician ensures the project meets local safety standards, passes required inspections, and often includes warranty coverage. While professional services cost more, they provide peace of mind and legal compliance, as recommended by the Frederick City Building Department.
