Not only was the workmanship and quality of the construction outstanding, but they operated with honesty and integrity. Their goal was our satisfaction and building a quality addition and deck. They accomplished all three and were reliable, dependable and conscientious. At no time did we believe that they had over-committed or were unable to deliver on what they had promised. They never cut corners to rush to another job nor did I ever feel that they were not spending the necessary time to ensure that the work on our job was thorough and complete. Travis, Kris and their crew were 100% professional, communicative and transparent. We will be using Washingtonian again, without hesitation. Our experience was excellent and they did an awesome job."

"I have used National Roofing before for a roof leak. They are a bit higher priced than other companies I have used but what you get for the additional cost is great quality and service. Robert Martin is very responsive to email and texts. This time I had a minor leak in my outdoor porch ceiling and decided it was time to fix that part of my roof (a flat roof and part of a pitched roof). The roof repair went well and it happened fairly quickly but about 2-3 weeks later I noticed rotted wood under part of the new roof. I texted Robert on a Saturday afternoon and he called me back less than 1 hour later. I wasn't expected such a prompt response. And honestly, another roofer might have taken his time to get back to me. Even though it turned out that the leak was not caused by the work they did- and it required taking off part of the new roof to get to the damaged wood, Robert did the work quickly and he did not charge me. The ceiling is painted bead board and I was concerned that the part they were going to fix wouldn't match what was already there. Robert talked me through what he was going to do. The finished work looks great- like nothing happened. I offered to pay and he refused. That is the kind of person he is."

"Very disappointing. The firm was very late in its installation work - months after it promised. Its anaylsis of our gutters was unreliable. and its responsiveness in correcting its work was slow and required multiple calls and emails."

"Spent ~$50,000 on a new roof with them. Thought everything went well. Years later discovered that they had not sealed the cricket on the chimney well enough. Discovered water coming in and eventually rotting the wallboard, studs, etc. Had to replace entire wall. Called them about the issue, they sent a rep. He said it was the chimney's fault, it was leaking. Not so, opened the wall and ceiling and had another roofer come spray water on the chimney, nothing, no leak. Then sprayed water on the cricket, water came in. Exterior Medics would not admit any fault. Had it repaired, no leak, no problem since then. Had recommended to a friend, never gain, he also had a bad experience. DO NOT USE IF YOU WANT QUALITY WORK AND A COMPANY HAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR WORK."

"We were looking to increase our attic insulation and met The Home Doctor Company at the Capital Remodel and Garden Show in February 2025 as well as some other companies. We consulted with several companies and decided to go with The Hone Doctor for our attic insulation. The company rep, Chris Lear, was very good explaining what they would do and why our attic needed R-38 insulation. I knew we needed more but did not realize our attic was only R-13. I have worked with numerous contractors before on projects and felt this was a really good company plus they have great reviews. The installation of the attic insulation went very well. They do install siding as well but decided to put this project off for now. Would highly recommend this company."

"Thomas M was an excellent technician and did great work fixing all the basement windows around the house. These windows are difficult to find a replacement but he was able to repair and repaint them. The other technician was Pablo He worked on caulking all the windows around the house and he did some filling work on the garage sliding doors You did a good job, but Pablo left his trash around and didn’t pick up after himself so Thomas M and I did that on the third day. It took three days total, but it was two men for two days and one man for a 3/4 of a day actually. Although I’ll probably get charged for a full day, since it went past noon. The labor portion is the most expensive and a little higher than I initially anticipated. So, I was hoping for a quicker turnaround, but overall quality work was completed. I would highly recommend Thomas M as a technician to do future work. He’s very knowledgeable, friendly and does a great job. I would hire again but include more details in the contract language."

"Extremely disappointed with this company. They do not stand by their guarantees. Did install shower in one day. Was not provided with the shower head I ordered. Calking and trim work was very sloppy. Went through the shower wall into my bedroom, did sparkle wall and left it. Shower doors have leaked and was finally told six months later that there is nothing they can do to correct the issue. Originally quoted $24,000.00 for the walk on shower, eventually agreed to $11,500.00. Completely dissatisfied with my shower. Once they get their payment, they are done."

"I have a very complicated slate roof, with a turret, dormers, and many converging rooflines. I had missing slate, a major water leak, 3 fireplaces that required repointing, and a flat garage roof (not slate) that was cracked, unbeknownst to me. Louise August Home Improvements started the work immediately, advised on the additional requirements (fireplace repointing) and the garage roof. They were professional, thorough, worked efficiently and expeditiously, and were kind, thoughtful, and kept me informed throughout the project. I don't usually become fond of those individuals working on my house, but I have to say the Louise August company/family business is wonderful, and I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!"
