National Roofing

I have used National Roofing before for a roof leak. They are a bit higher priced than other companies I have used but what you get for the additional cost is great quality and service. Robert Martin is very responsive to email and texts. This time I had a minor leak in my outdoor porch ceiling and decided it was time to fix that part of my roof (a flat roof and part of a pitched roof). The roof repair went well and it happened fairly quickly but about 2-3 weeks later I noticed rotted wood under part of the new roof. I texted Robert on a Saturday afternoon and he called me back less than 1 hour later. I wasn't expected such a prompt response. And honestly, another roofer might have taken his time to get back to me. Even though it turned out that the leak was not caused by the work they did- and it required taking off part of the new roof to get to the damaged wood, Robert did the work quickly and he did not charge me. The ceiling is painted bead board and I was concerned that the part they were going to fix wouldn't match what was already there. Robert talked me through what he was going to do. The finished work looks great- like nothing happened. I offered to pay and he refused. That is the kind of person he is.

Robert and his team are great to work with. I have used them a couple times now for a variety of roofing projects, including replacement of 100 year old slate with new slate, replacement of regular asphalt shingles, and repair of sections of flat roof, and they have been extremely responsive and done great work with all of them.

Incredibly impressed with Robert! We had a leak on our flat roof, and the company that installed it has gone out of business. Robert responded to my inquiry right away and was out to see the roof first thing the next morning. He gathered information from me as to what the previous company did and then went up and took a look. He discovered and was able to quickly patch a hole, and then showed me pictures and explained what the previous company had done wrong -- and then declined any payment. Very impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, and integrity. Will absolutely give him a call when the roof eventually need a full replacement!

They were very professional they got to work right away , they kept telling if I had any questions with any thing else about the chimney . Also fixed it within hust a couple of hours .

National Roofing came very quickly to take a look, and they came back the very next day to reseal the skylight. They showed me pictures of all the work before and after. It's been several months and we've never had any more problems with the skylight leaking. I had called a different company before that and they wanted to replace the skylight and charge more money.

Robert has been incredibly impressive in both his work and interpersonal dealings. After leaving an initial email and voicemail message over the weekend about a roofline leak leading to bedroom ceiling water damage, he called us back within 15 minutes on a Saturday to talk through needs and upcoming availability (despite the office being closed). Then, he was very communicative and flexible about his availability and was able to head our way earlier than expected during the week. To top it off, he diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue at root free of charge. We'll certainly be turning to Robert and National Roofing for our next project.

Robert and his team were excellent. The foreman and his crew showed up on time and kept me informed throughout the process including photos and timing, and cleaned up nicely. They actually went above and beyond -- used copper flashing while charging me for aluminum and came back the next week to fix an area where broken slate was hidden beneath another one, which really was evident only after a hard rain. No charge of course. Couldn't recommend them highly enough, and I'm hoping they will be my roof guys for as long as I own this house.

I called National roofing with water dripping into my bedroom ceiling. Robert (owner) came over to look that day with his Dad and his son, also in the business. He provided an estimate the same day. I signed it the following day and he started the day after that. He re-arranged his schedule to fit me in because of the urgency of the problem. Robert checked in with the crew throughout the day and kept me posted of progress. Everyone was respectful of me and my property. They left the yard cleaner than when they got there. I would highly recommend National Roofing.

It was a pleasure working with Robert Martin of National Roofing and his crew. He was prompt, careful, an excellent communicator, had a crew on the job within two days. His crew was efficient and careful, the quality of the work was excellent. All in all it was a very good experience.

Robert Martin, his father and their crew were amazing! We talked to seven roofers who came to our house and evaluated the job. We asked each of them for their possible solutions to the problem of our ceiling leaking in several places. Seven is a lot, but we wanted to shop around for the very best roofer who would be honest with us as to what work needed to be done, and what work could be saved for later. After seven estimates, and literally seven different solutions, we picked Robert and National Roofing because we felt like he wasn't pushing the most expensive solution (entire new roof), but was offering the solution that would fix our problem (reset the skylights and redo the roofing around them). He also responded to our calls very quickly and came back a second time to go through the repair process, step by step, before we officially hired him. If you are asking if Robert's solution was correct, we can say, absolutely! We waited a long time, months and months, to write this review, just to make sure we weren't going to rave about him, only for the roof to leak shortly thereafter. We've had some pretty Biblical rains here within the past year, and Robert's roof has kept us and our ceiling dry. As for his crew, they were all very pleasant, professional, neat and efficient. His guys were happy and, from time to time, we could hear them whistling while they did the work, even though it was a hot, humid and miserable day. They seemed to really like their job, and proved to be very good at their job. Robert and his father were on site for most of the day and inspected the work throughout the day. At the end of the job, Robert reviewed the work with us. He patiently explained each repair even showed us the extra repairs he did -- which he did for free and outside of what we discussed, just to make sure there would be no leaks. He guaranteed his work, too, and we will use him again for yearly checks and when our roof finally conks out, which hopefully won't be for a long time. We couldn't be happier with him, his work, his workers or his trustworthiness. If I could give him and A++++, I would. He's just that good. (And I'm saying this as sheets of rain are hitting my skylights, which reminded me to write this review.)

Robert and his team are awesome!  I emailed one night around 8:00 p.m. one night to ask for a quote, and was shocked when I got a reply about ten minutes later.  National Roofing was not the lowest quote I got, but it was fair.  I went with National Roofing over a lower quote - because Robert spent the time to carefully explain everything to me, while not being condescending (as was the case with another company).  When I decided to go with National Roofing, Robert called me and asked if he could install the roof/skylight the next day!  National Roofing installed the roof and skylight while I was at work.  Robert emailed me pictures when they completed the work.  I was so impressed.  When I got home, I was very pleased at what a fabulous job they did.  It looks great!  And, it poured last night - and we did not have a single drop within the house.  I was so impressed and pleased with the speed and the quality of National Roofing's work.  I highly recommend them - in fact, already recommended them to a friend who also has roofing issues. 

Robert was absolutely fantastic. When he came by for a quote, he took a ton of photos and patiently explained the options. We are thinking about solar panels and wanted to assess the condition of the roof before hand. Robert wasn't pushy at all - he offered quotes for some less expensive temporary fixes all the way up to fully replacing the roof. We decided to go with the full roof replacement. Robert pointed out some minor issues that he would fix at the same time (missing slate, touching up the front porch, some flashing issues). He showed up on time the day of and immediately got to work. Unfortunately the two story back porch was in significantly worse condition than we thought - it was basically being held together by the rubber membrane and was in danger of collapsing when that was removed. Robert took the time to figure out a safe way to stabilize the back porch, and he took the time to explain how it was going to work. They even took the time to find a matching stain and put in molding to make the additional supports blend in. Robert originally estimated it would take 2 days to complete the project (with the possibility of finishing in 1 if they got lucky). Even with the additional work on the extension, they still completed in 2 days was was really impressive. Robert took photos throughout the work and explained everything at the end. Everything was extremely cleanly done, Robert clearly has pride in his work. The crew left the back yard in better shape then they started, cleaning every out. I cannot recommend Robert more highly.

• Two years ago National Roofing repaired my roof around a vent and replaced the vent boot.  They told me that I needed my chimney repaired before the winter or I might lose a portion of it. They did the roof and chimney work and I was very pleased with their service.  Recently, I thought the same vent pipe roof area, which was the source of the initial concern, had developed a new leak.  The same week Robert Martin, from National Roofing, came and did an inspection.  They determined I most likely did not have a new leak because there was no evidence on the roof but possibly condensation was the problem inside.  Nonetheless, they re-caulked in a few places at no charge for their time or services.  I was amazed and recommend them without any reservation because I think they are honest, have integrity and their response indicates they stand behind their work.

This is the second time that I used National Roofing for my roofing needs.  This time I was experiencing some basement flooding due to the location of one of my down spouts and persistent problems that I was having with the drain that downspout led to.  Robert was very responsive to my request and visited my house to assess the problem when I was at work.  He called me when he was onsite and we walked through my issue and the ways that he believed they could be fixed.  Later that day he emailed a reasonable estimate and I committed.  It turns out he had availability in his schedule to perform the work the following day.  The work was done quickly and cleanly and solved my problems.
In the process of performing the installation he uncovered a long-suspected issue with our porch roof.  As was true with my first experience with National, Robert did not pressure me into getting the work done but very clearly explained what was going on and potential solution when I am ready.  National will be on my short-list of companies I will get an estimate from when the time comes to have this work performed.

Robert was a pleasure to work with. He spent time on the phone with me explaining his proposal and comparing it to other proposals I had seen until I really understood what was needed and what the value of his services would be. The work was done promptly, efficiently, and was a high quality job. They provided before / during / after photos as well. The crew was respectful and cleaned up after the job as well.

National Roofing was great!  We got several quotes, and some people said we needed to repair the whole roof and others said we just needed minor patching.  National recognized that the roof needed lots of work, but that we would be better off not replacing it.  They also gave some good advice on fixing a problematic porch roof and did that work.  They gave a quote quickly, scheduled the work quickly, and finished when they said they would.  The workers were completely professional.  It's hard to say how the work quality is because we won't really know for five years, but it looks solid.

The service was very good. The staff was very good to work with. They left the area clean. They were very prompt.

We had worked with National a in September 2012 when they did some extensive roof repairs and they did an excellent job. Back then, we had several leaks that two previous roofers had tried unsuccessfully to address. National did a very thorough job of locating the all the possible sources of the leaks and did some pretty extensive repairs of shoddy work done by a roofer hired by the previous owner. Robert was very thorough in his inspection, and took the time to explain and show us all of the issues he had found in great detail.

This time we called after a minor leak in a new location, which turned out to be due to a sloppy installation of a dryer vent. We asked them to weather proof and secure our roof hatch while they were here, which they did no problem. They did the initial estimate within a day or so, and were able to schedule and complete the work very quickly. Just as before, we experienced no problems after the repairs were done. Robert was a pleasure to work with, and the crew was very considerate and made an effort to be minimally intrusive. We've been very happy with National and appreciate their wonderful customer service and quick response time, and are confident that their work will help to extend the life of our roof.
