"After my call to Discount Energy Services, I knew who was coming and when to evaluate my attic insulation. The estimate was prepared on-site with pricing. The workers arrived and knew exactly what they were to accomplish, which they confirmed with me. They prepared the entire path with clean drop cloths and created a plastic drape around my attic stairs. The foreman was glad to explain any aspect of the procedure. My attic was upgraded to R-49 and the difference is notable."

"Great! Job was complete .... removal of existing 50+ year old insulation, air sealing attic, baffle installation, installed 18 inches new fiberglass blown insulation, and new whole-house fan. Job started and completed as proposed. Crew on-time, quietly performed their work, and left spaces clean when done. Definitely worth the cost as noticeable improvement in second floor temperature and humidity readings."
Owens Corning ProPink R-49 Blown-In Insulation. Our most popular product
These vents help your attic circulate air. With attics reaching over 120 degrees in the summer these are very important. They prevent mold and increase the lifetime of your insulation. Most other contractors miss installing these.
Look at the difference! Our foam is fire-rated which allows us to air seal around penetrations that contractors never could before.
Most homes have penetrations all over there attic. Imagine trying to blow up a balloon with a bunch of holes. It will never fill up. Now imagine trying to blow up your house with air conditioning and heating with a bunch of holes in the attic. It will never fill up.
Recessed can lights are notorious for leaking air. Recessed can light covers help with air-sealing your living space and prevent fires.

"These guys were great. Allen met me at the door with a firm handshake told me what they were about to do and if I had any questions just ask. Leo was just as professional during insulation and got the job done in 3 hours. Dylan kept me up to speed during both projects and was very helpful. Easy reccomendation."

"There was a problem initially with the radiant barrier installation - the first crew of two were installing 30" wide rolls lengthwise along the roof end to end  instead of from ridge to eave as the manufacturer recommends and made a couple of other minor mistakes which were easily corrected. After talking to the manufacturer, the sales rep offered to take out what had been installed and re-install according to spec or continue as already done with sealing of all seams and a discount on the job. Done this way, the foil would not have the insulation properties per spec but would provide the radiant barrier I desired. I chose the letter option and the barrier work was continued by another crew on the 2nd day. On the 3rd day the crew finished up with the barrier then blew in the installation.

With the exception of the initial problem, the work was done neatly and professionally by courteous workmen who cleaned up completely after the job was done.

"
Company personnel scheduled to do the work on a semi holiday and they arrived on time/when they said they woudl.  They were very attentive to doing a good job - they lined the floor with plastic; they vacuumed up excess insulation).  They even phoned up days after completing the project to inform us that we might be able to take advantage of a tax benefit.  We would definitely recommend this company."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Insulation service in Washington needs regular upkeep due to the area’s humidity and urban conditions. Plan for yearly inspections to spot signs of moisture, mold, or pest activity, especially in attics and basements. After heavy rain or storms, check for water intrusion or damage. Every few years, confirm that vapor barriers and seals remain intact to keep your insulation performing at its best.

Helpful?

Combining insulation service with other upgrades in Washington can make your project more efficient. Pairing insulation with HVAC improvements, window replacements, or air sealing often reduces labor time and minimizes disruptions. You’ll also streamline permit applications and inspections, which is especially helpful for older Washington homes. Scheduling these upgrades together—ideally in spring or fall—can help you maximize comfort and long-term energy savings.

Helpful?

Be cautious if a Washington contractor’s quote is unusually low, lacks clear details, or comes with pushy sales tactics. Watch out if they skip an energy audit, don’t address moisture management, or can’t provide local references. A reputable pro should understand Washington’s unique housing styles and climate needs. Always request proof of insurance, a written warranty, and recent project photos before making your decision.

Helpful?

In Washington, homeowners often overlook local permit requirements, especially in historic neighborhoods, or neglect moisture control, leading to future problems. Failing to coordinate insulation on shared walls in row homes is another frequent issue. Choosing insulation types unsuited for Washington’s mixed-humid climate can reduce effectiveness. Addressing these details early ensures your insulation service meets local codes and delivers lasting results.

Helpful?

Completing insulation service in Washington brings immediate benefits like lower energy bills and more consistent indoor temperatures. Over time, you’ll notice improved air quality, less noise from outside, and fewer moisture issues. Enhanced insulation also helps maintain your home’s value and can qualify you for local incentives. These upgrades are especially valuable in Washington’s variable climate, where comfort and efficiency matter year-round.
