Once we received the estimate, I was blown away by how professional and organized the company was - the matrix of options, the fast and clear communication, the scheduling - it was all so unlike the other contractors I'd been dealing with through my renovation. Once the job started, I continued to be pleased. Eugene (Gene) led the crew and did a fantastic job over the 5 days they were at our house. "We purchased the $49.99 service call. It was very easy to schedule, and we had someone out within a couple of days. The gentleman who came out was very professional and communicated everything that he was doing and finding. At the end, he provided several options for our furnace. One was to just replace the part that was causing our immediate problem; however, our furnace was 27 years old and there were signs that a couple of other key parts were on their last legs. The other options were to replace the furnace with different types of furnaces. I wasn't comfortable making the call on what we would do at the end of the service call and that was fine. There was no hard sell to make an option then and there. I really appreciated that.
After discussing it, my husband and I decided to replace the furnace with one of the options provided. We called the next day and they sent a couple of folks to replace it within a few days. The two gentleman were professional and thorough, and cleaned up everything before they left. They installed our Nest thermometer rather than the thermometer that came with the furnace, and everything has been working great.

"I got estimates for installing a new furnace from two companies on Angieslist.  Their estimates were very similar but I decided to go with Duke because I felt it was easier to deal with him.  It was a good decision.  My daughter works two jobs so her time is limited.  I am retired but live almost an hour away.  Duke was wonderful about scheduling so that my trips to her condo were limited and her time available time was maximized.  The furnace was installed on a day she could be there by Juan and Jesus.   After the installation they found a problem with a ceiling duct but instead of scheduling another appointment, they went to get the materials and fixed it that day.  A required test and inspection by the city was set up based on our schedules.  Duke and his technicians were pleasant, easy to work with, cleaned up after themselves and got the job done in a minimum amount of time.

"Sal from ABC Cooling and Heating came a day after I called the company (I got an appointment with them 5 minutes after sending the email requesting an appointment). He was professional and pleasant. He explained to me how to clean the filters in my furnace and how to install them back in place, thus saving me $200. I appreciated his advice, as I really didn't want to spent that money on him simply just washing the filters, a do-it-yourself job, if the home owner is able to do it. At the end, we were able to replace a bad capacitator and figure out that the compressor worked just fine with this new part. I paid $234 for the capacitator, $59 for the home visit and labor and got 10% off as a member of Angie's list. I am not sure if it was a good price or not for the capacitator (I didn't check prices online), but I was perfectly happy with the job and Sal. I think that $59 was a good price for the labor, considering that you have to pay this fee anyways for the diagnostic/home visit."

"The technicians that came to install our HVAC system were super friendly and accommodating to my many requests about locations of the furnace, vent pipes, the condenser wiring, piping, and the condenser itself. When I asked for a 90 degree boot feeding two registers so the piping could stay high, a technician made a run to a store and found them. I want to give a shout out to Danny Aguilar who installed the furnace with Edgar and Victor. Grant Duran with Jose and Richard did an amazing job installing the vent pipes. Finally Adolph Garcia with Gabriel and later several other technicians I previously mentioned all worked to install the AC system (condenser and its plumbing + electrical). They worked late into the day to complete the job. I was very demanding in where I wanted things installed and requested changes on a regular basis but in all cases I was accommodated."

Personable and professional, he quickly hooked up his equipment and let the machines do their work, which took about 30 minutes for our 1400 SF house. He took photos of the intake duct so we could see their condition. I will be scheduling a manual deep cleaning of the whole system next!"
