The service person, whose name was Chance, did a thorough evaluation of the problem with a focus on saving us as much money as possible, to either repair or replace our 30-year-old heat furnace. He quickly determined that our inlet filter was too dense (it was a Merv 11 and should have been a Merv 8) and that that was probably causing the heater to go off an on every 5-10 minutes. He then tested and confirmed his hypothesis. He also performed a CO test to make sure there wasn't anything more serious going on. Finally, he gave us a good idea of replacement options, which we should probably do before the next Winter, but not necessarily right away. All in all, this is exactly the kind of assessment we needed, and it cost orders of magnitude less than what was estimated by the first service company we had come out. Chance was great, and Comfort Energy is our go-to for heating and cooling service and/or installation from now on."

"Discussed with Duke the various options for buying and installing a new furnace vs. fixing the old one. For our specific circumstances we decided fixing the old furnace would be the best option. Duke was very helpful in making this decision and provided a lot of information about the pro's and con's of both options. No pressure either way, just good information to make the right decision.

Diego assembled a crew of four incredibly hard working guys who came out two days later (Monday), and removed our old system and installed the new one (compressor, furnace, and coil) in a few hours. It was a life saver! The price was very reasonable (I'd previously replaced an AC and furnace at an old house, and paid a couple thousand more). He was on time, worked his butt off, and did great work. He also gave a five year guarantee on anything broken for labor, and the AC and furnace come with 10 years parts that he will coordinate. I will definitely call him again for anything!"

"Sal from ABC Cooling and Heating came a day after I called the company (I got an appointment with them 5 minutes after sending the email requesting an appointment). He was professional and pleasant. He explained to me how to clean the filters in my furnace and how to install them back in place, thus saving me $200. I appreciated his advice, as I really didn't want to spent that money on him simply just washing the filters, a do-it-yourself job, if the home owner is able to do it. At the end, we were able to replace a bad capacitator and figure out that the compressor worked just fine with this new part. I paid $234 for the capacitator, $59 for the home visit and labor and got 10% off as a member of Angie's list. I am not sure if it was a good price or not for the capacitator (I didn't check prices online), but I was perfectly happy with the job and Sal. I think that $59 was a good price for the labor, considering that you have to pay this fee anyways for the diagnostic/home visit."
