"From the first point of contact, Valley Heating was a pleasure to deal with. Zac came by take the initial look for the estimate and was so friendly, helpful, and professional. Once we received the estimate, I was blown away by how professional and organized the company was - the matrix of options, the fast and clear communication, the scheduling - it was all so unlike the other contractors I'd been dealing with through my renovation. Once the job started, I continued to be pleased. Eugene (Gene) led the crew and did a fantastic job over the 5 days they were at our house. "We recently installed solar panels on the roof and continued the 'infrastructure upgrades' with a new furnace and central air conditioner, having cooled the house in summers with breezes and fans and insulation, but no A/C.
Comfort Energy was more expensive than other bidders, but my spouse (who drove the process) felt the most detailed options and trade-offs were presented by Carlos Gonzalez.  So we went with Comfort.  The installation team was VERY professional and courteous, working hard to minimize disruption (we work from home offices, and have dogs...) while doing the work, and leaving an immaculate workspace at the end of each day.
The job, by coincidence, finished on the hottest day of the summer thus far and one part of the furnace install involved opening all windows and blasting the furnace on high for a number of minutes to clear out some factory material/fumes.  This was fascinating on a 90-100F degree day.  That part concluded, we shut the windows, turned on the AC and the house became cool again.
Next will come the post-install QC/QA check, and the next 2-3 years of on site tune-ups and services. So we'll see how that goes.  But so far so good.  We'll never know of course if different equipment would have been better/worse, but we do know that the UI of the experience seemed to go quite well and very, very professionally.

"Duke did a great job at a fair price. We needed AC and decided to replace our old furnace at the same time. In addition Duke wrapped with insulating bubble wrap our old ducts that were exposed. "Sal from ABC Cooling and Heating came a day after I called the company (I got an appointment with them 5 minutes after sending the email requesting an appointment). He was professional and pleasant. He explained to me how to clean the filters in my furnace and how to install them back in place, thus saving me $200. I appreciated his advice, as I really didn't want to spent that money on him simply just washing the filters, a do-it-yourself job, if the home owner is able to do it. At the end, we were able to replace a bad capacitator and figure out that the compressor worked just fine with this new part. I paid $234 for the capacitator, $59 for the home visit and labor and got 10% off as a member of Angie's list. I am not sure if it was a good price or not for the capacitator (I didn't check prices online), but I was perfectly happy with the job and Sal. I think that $59 was a good price for the labor, considering that you have to pay this fee anyways for the diagnostic/home visit."
