"Overall experience was fantastic. Wayne is honest and extremely knowledgeable. He has worked decades in the field installing water softener systems for other companies, and is currently often called to fix those systems. Quite simply put, having seen it all, he is passionate about installing reliable water softeners. He graciously took 2 hours in a free consultation to discuss the science behind different systems of water softeners. I had also met with other companies and was misled with false guarantees (no maintenance for 10yrs, better proprietary system, need for dual tank, etc). I had fact checked everything, and Wayne does not deviate from proven facts. His services are reasonably priced and installation was several days after. Installation went smooth and Wayne is strict and meticulous in his supervision. I would highly recommend Primary Solution Consulting to anyone looking for a quality install from an honest expert with reliable customer service, at a great price point."
The before picture people actually install systems like this every day.

"Alamo Water Softener did a great job. Ross and his team didn’t try to up-sell us on a systemwide didn’t need. He was very far and honest. Good communication, arrived on-time and very fast with the installation. This is a good company to deal with."

"We needed a new RO system as well as maintenance done on our current water softener system. Aqua Systems had sent over two technicians.. one headed into the house to install and the other to the garage to tend to the water softener. We were surprised by how quickly they finished. We will definitely contact them again for any future maintenance."

"JRC Home Solutions is a company I highly recommend for entire home water softener systems. We had inconsistent soft water from our home system. They took the time to listen to my issue, came in with possible suggestions. Had a service tech out who identified the issue and within a few days the work was completed in an efficient and professional manner. The company's employees are professional, knowledgeable, patient to learn about my issue. The repair was completed in a timely manner and very professional. Again I highly recommend this company"

"Very professional service by the technicians and the office representative. Did a great job removing the old water heaters and installing the new water heaters. And the price was $2,200 less than another vendor who quoted the work."

"Came out on a Sunday and charged a really reasonable fee. I had a problem with tankless hot water heaters and the person they sent was a specialist in that area - even coming out quickly on a Sunday. All fixed and clear less than five hours after I first started trying to find somebody to solve my problem."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Choosing involves understanding water hardness levels, household size, desired features, and consulting professionals experienced in suitable system types.

Because it’s been through the water cycle, evaporating and becoming slightly acidic thanks to dissolved carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, rainwater tends to be naturally soft compared to groundwater, which has just been in contact with limestone. However, the natural hardness level of water always depends on where you are and other factors.

The main difference between a water softener and a water filter is what they remove from the water. A water softener is specifically designed to remove hard minerals, while a filter removes a wider range of contaminants above a certain size, such as bacteria and other impurities. If your primary goal is to remove minerals, a softener is the best choice. If you want to remove various contaminants for safety or taste, a filter is more suitable. Filters are also typically less expensive to install. Depending on your water supply's specific issues, you may need to install both systems for comprehensive treatment.

Routine maintenance involves recharging the resin bed with salt or potassium, cleaning components, and periodic inspection.

While not everyone can detect taste differences in high-calcium water, water that has a slightly metallic taste probably has too much calcium.
