"They came out and looked everything over. Very knowledgeable about yard and garden care. We had a discussion about what needed to be done, they understood what needed to be done, had a few suggestions. Everything we talked about let me know that they really knew the business and could help with making my yard look great."

Small jobs welcome

"Our yard had been severely neglected over the last year: leaves everywhere, debris, holes in the yard, overgrown everything; my husband and I were so overwhelmed we knew we needed professionals to take care of it. So I looked on HomeAdvisor for a recommendation and came across Jose/2 Brothers Landscaping. I already had some other leads from cards left by other companies that also gave me a quote. He had a fair price and even though he was a little bit more than another one that gave me a quote (but less than another), from talking with him about my yard, he appeared to have more expertise and understanding on how to make the yard look good. And may I say they did!!! They worked all day long, worked hard and provided excellent service. I plan on letting them continue to do the maintenance work on our yard! Don't hesitate to hire these great guys!"

Customers say: Quick response

"A great guy providing a great service. He showed up with well-maintained equipment and two knowledgeable assistants (one was his son). He had sized up my property right after I made my initial inquiry by looking at an on-line map app, and he provided me an immediate quote very reasonable. They were in and out quickly, as they used two machines. They cleaned up the sidewalks and other paved areas afterwards. I ll definitely use him again next Spring, and maybe I ll add in the top-dressing service he offers. He works the whole Houston area, so expect the need to be reasonable and flexible when you call to be scheduled on his weekday to visit your quadrant."

"I highly recommend using L&G for your landscape needs! Louise is a great guy and he and his crew do GREAT work! They put in about 7 yards of bull rock, some pond liner and drainage pipe to waterproof an area behind our pool and also some rock in other areas around our yard. They also laid some sod and installed a new sprinkler system. Everything turned out fantastic!"

"Never have I met a more professional group of people who also did an outstanding job. My landscaping was looking pretty shabby, and they made it look like new. Thank you to Cesar, Mariano and the whole crew at New Ground for making my yard look beautiful again."

"SOS Sprinkler was very responsive to my request. A nice lady contacted me and the next day a crew was onsite when they said they would be. There prices was fair (lower than most) and did not try to nickel and dime me for every little thing. The crew assessed my entire system and made repairs to three areas in which lines were damaged due to some construction. They took time to show me what was going on and did a great job of not destroying my yard. I highly recommend this company and I will use them again."

"I called several landscapers for a quote, one came out and gave me a quote the other one never showed up and another never responded. Called the one that gave me the quote and left message that I wanted to hire them and they never replied. Found Salâ s Lawn Service and he came out the same day to give me a quote and my landscaping was done 3 days later. Sal and his team did a great job and will call on him the next time I have a landscape project. Wish I could upload a picture of the beautiful landscape they did.. Thank you Sal and team."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

The time it takes for leaves to decompose can range from six months to three years. Key factors influencing the decomposition rate include water, sunlight, and heat, so local weather conditions play a significant role. Decomposition will take longer for thick, matted layers of leaves. To speed up the process, you can mulch the leaves, as smaller pieces break down faster. Spreading large piles into thinner layers to increase exposure to sunlight and water also helps accelerate decomposition.

You have a few options to get rid of raked leaves, including bagging them and leaving them out for yard waste pickup. Even if you hire a professional for leaf removal, they can often bag the leaves and leave them for you to dispose of this way. You can also recycle and even donate yard waste. If you have a compost bin, your leaves will be ready to help your plants grow, reducing spring cleanup landscaping costs. Some companies will even accept donations of raked leaves to make compost, but you’ll need to transport them yourself.

They handle labor-intensive tasks efficiently, equipping your lawn for seasonal changes without physically demanding work on your part.

Maintains yard aesthetics, reduces pest habitats, and promotes healthy greenery.

The easiest way to remove bushes is first to cut the bush down. You may need to use a handsaw, pruning shears, or a chainsaw for thicker branches. Once you’ve removed most of the branches, you can then cut the base of the shrub as low to the ground as you can get. Then, with a shovel, dig around until you expose the roots. Dig out the roots, being careful not to leave any roots in the soil.
