"I waited to post my review so that I could get a good feel for how their work would hold up and now I think itâ s safe to say that these guys are 100% good to go. Had a softener installed at my place, on the coast so the water is terrible. After the install the sales guy, Ross Thull, tested my water and showed me the before and after. It was better but not where he wanted it to be due to my water being brackish. He recommended an RO unit to help get the remaining contaminates out and due to it being an unexpected upsale and him not having the unit with him that day he gave me a spectacular deal and even gave me a veterans discount. He came back a few days later, checked over all his previous work, then installed the RO and I was truly shocked at the difference in the water. I could literally taste it. No more bottled water in this house! Ross called a few days later to ensure everything was still working perfectly and called again the other day, about the 6 month mark, to check on me again. You can really tell that they care about the customer and if there is ever a problem, you know that theyâ ll make it right."

"We needed a new RO system as well as maintenance done on our current water softener system. Aqua Systems had sent over two technicians.. one headed into the house to install and the other to the garage to tend to the water softener. We were surprised by how quickly they finished. We will definitely contact them again for any future maintenance."

"I was in the market for a water softener to which a sales person arrived to give me a quote. Infinity installs kinetico water treatment systems which is a proprietary system that you cannot work on. If you attempt to work on it yourself, you void the warranty of the system. They provided me with a quote of $3,600 for the softener, dechlorinator, and RO system which was a fair deal in my opinion. The only reason why I did no go with the company is that their service charge is $187 for each visit. That combined with the price of kinetico parts that are way more expensive than other brands. I m sure it s a great water softener, but the service charge fee is more then 3 times more than other competitors in the area."

"January 3rd, Attempted to chat online first with a representative. They were very responsive and able to answer my questions. Shortly after finishing the online chat, I received a call from their office to schedule the service. They were very accommodating of my schedule. The technicians arrived on time, were pleasant and knowledgeable, wore those plastic covers on their shoes. I needed the drains looked at in our upstairs bathroom but also asked them to take a look at the other bathroom, kitchen sink and backyard as I was noticing some stagnant water there. The Technicians were honest and up front - they diligently took care of the problem upstairs, told me everything else looked good elsewhere, showed me where grass had grown over the drainage from the back yard to the front, checked my water heater as a precaution. They were fair in their pricing and even offer a 5-year preventative maintenance plan that is extremely economical. I was absolutely happy with the service and would recommend JD Plumbing to anyone."

"Hello, I just had the extreme pleasure of having a new water heater installation performed by Wallin Plumbing Services. The project included removing two existing water heaters, installing a new water heater and hauling off the old water heaters. The two gentleman that was assigned to my project were very professional, personable and knowledgeable. The value for the project far exceeding any other quotes and I was referred to this company four separate times during interview process etc. Thank you Wallin Plumbing for a great experience and making the turnaround time within a 24 hour period. In the future this is my go to company for sure."

"Dean with We the Plumbers installed our water softener and absolutely blew us away with his skill, professionalism, and friendly demeanor. His craftsmanship is top-notch—every detail was handled with care and precision. He explained the process clearly, answered all our questions, and left the space spotless. Dean is the kind of person you instantly trust—knowledgeable, respectful, and genuinely kind. It felt more like getting help from a good friend than a contractor. We’re beyond happy with the results and will 100% call Dean for any future plumbing needs. Highly recommend!"

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

It depends on the type of surface. For instance, if you’re trying to get rid of hard water deposits on glass, you can spray vinegar onto the surface and wipe it off with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. However, if the deposits are on granite or natural stone, it’s better to use baking soda and water rather than vinegar or other acidic cleaners.

It’s not a good idea to oversize your water softener. Doing so will mean the tank doesn’t get full, which can lead to channeling. This leads to a large portion of the resin beads not being utilized and the beads at the bottom of the tank being overused. Over time, this will reduce the efficiency of your system, not to mention that the upfront cost of an oversized softener is unnecessarily high. If you have a timed regeneration cycle rather than a demand-based one, you’ll also spend far more on replacing salt than you need to.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.

Experts recommend that you put two to four bags of potassium chloride in your water softener every month. This amount depends on how much is in the bag (40 pounds is most common) and what your water softener manufacturer recommends. For more specific advice, talk to a water softener pro in your area and read the manual that came with your system.

There are many possibilities for why your shower’s water pressure is low. It might be a simple-to-fix issue like the water valves being partially turned off, a dirty showerhead or hose, leaks in the plumbing, or an old showerhead. However, low water pressure in the shower could also indicate a larger issue with your home’s plumbing system.
