"I would recommend Remedy P&D to anyone needing a plumber. They were fast to respond and schedule an appointment for a free estimate. PEX pipes can freeze. While they are less likely to burst than rigid pipes like copper or galvanized steel, it is still possible. PEX is flexible and can expand as water freezes and contract as it thaws. However, this expansion can cause leaks around the pipe's connections. Furthermore, frequent freezing and thawing cycles can stress and weaken the material over time, increasing the risk of a future burst. Therefore, even though PEX is freeze-resistant, it is not freeze-proof, and standard insulation precautions are still recommended to prevent freezing.

Yes, pipes can freeze during the winter months. If temps dip below 20 degrees Fahrenheit for six or more hours, your insulated pipes are more at risk, while uninsulated pipes can freeze if temps fall below 32 degrees for around 12 hours. Exterior pipes are more likely to freeze than interior pipes. Turn on the water to each faucet and check the area for water trickling out from anyplace but the spout. Next, shut off the water and see if there’s any residue which could indicate a worn down rubber seal. If you find any water, you can replace the rubber seal or have a plumber do it for you.

You will need a plumber to install a kitchen faucet if your installation requires modifications to your plumbing system. However, if none of these modifications are needed, a faucet installation pro can do the job. In a pinch, you can also outsource the project to a handyperson or simply go the DIY route.
