Wall-mounted faucets aren’t more difficult to fix than traditional ones, but plumbing problems will complicate your repair. The diverter valve in your bathtub is responsible for diverting water between your tub spout and your shower head. If water comes out of both at the same time, you have a faulty diverter valve. You can have a plumber replace this for you, or you can replace it yourself if you have some experience working with plumbing fixtures.

When positioning a pot filler, it should be mounted at a height that allows for convenient access without obstructing the cooking area. A general guideline is to place it 18 to 24 inches above the stove. For a more customized height, measure your most-used pots and install the filler 5 to 10 inches above your tallest one. Regarding horizontal placement, while centering the pot filler can be aesthetically pleasing and ensure it reaches all burners, it is often safer to install it to the left or right of the cooking surface. This placement helps you avoid reaching over a hot stove and reduces the risk of the filler itself getting hot from a large boiling pot. If you do choose to center it, be careful to avoid burns.

When outside temperatures drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, your pipes are at risk of freezing. To prevent this, set your thermostat to no lower than 55 degrees. For added safety, especially when you are away from home, maintaining a temperature between 55 and 60 degrees will provide enough warmth to keep pipes from freezing and help you avoid expensive water damage from burst pipes.
