Pedestal sinks typically come with two pieces: the pedestal (also known as the base or pole) and the sink basin. You may hear it referred to as a standalone sink. Copper pipes are the safest type of pipe for carrying drinking water because they won't leach chemicals into your drinking water. However, for the best water quality, you should use copper pipes with lead-free joint material. The next best options for carrying drinking water are CPVC and PEX pipes.

If you use copper pipes for drinking water, you should check your water’s pH level. If it has a pH value lower than seven, you'll need to balance your water acidity with a purifier to avoid corrosion that could affect your drinking water quality. 

The hot and cold water hookups are the two pipes at the back of the washing machine. In many homes, independent taps turn on or off and are usually located directly behind the washing machine. If they aren’t there, try looking inside a cupboard or closet. If you plan on unhooking either pipe, make sure the water is shut completely off and have towels nearby, as there’s still water stored in the pipes.

You’d likely need to remove the floors to install drainage and a new floor over that, remove drywall outside the shower area, and replace it with cement backer board covered in a waterproofing material. You’d also need to remove the existing shower, waterproof the walls, and install fixtures to create a more open, curbless shower space.
