"GPR was the very first company to come out to look over the chimney. He thoroughly explained everything to me, His work was great and the price was much better than two other companies that came out. I had a new liner put in the chimney plus a repair of the chimney near the boiler. (I had hole in the chimney near the boiler that you could put your hand through). They patched this up and cleaned up very well after the job was done. I highly recommend this company."

"Superior Chimney came to our house next day after water was coming into our fireplace down the chimney. Came and gave a free quote which was extremely well communicated and provided pictures to show the issues we were having. We needed to replace our caps as well as new waterproofing on our chase cover. Repairs were able to be completed immediately. Extremely happy with the service and felt cost was very fair. Would recommend for service"

"Anthony and his partner inspected and cleaned our chimney. They were thorough, professional, and even advised us of exterior parts of the chimney that were potential cause for concern: the chimney caps, and flashing seal were in need of replacement and repair. If you need chimney work done, call Top Hat Chimney Service to get the help you need. Thank you!!"

"Great service by a truly professional company, Received a response asap for a rep to visit and assess my needs and an estimate response was received in a few days. A special order for the limestone caps required a couple of weeks and the company lived up to their commitment of contacting upon arrival to schedule installation. The tuckpointing was needed on the 45 year old home and the installation of the stair caps had fixed and enhanced the stairwell."

Chimney Repair questions, answered by experts

Repairing furniture is cost-effective, and it's a great way to preserve sentimental pieces, while also reducing environmental impact.

Yes, in most cases it’s a good idea to wrap furniture in plastic to protect it from dirt, dust, and damage during storage. However, natural and porous materials such as wood or leather should have breathable fabric covers to prevent moisture damage from condensation. Either way, it’s always important to ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup, especially in humid climates.

High humidity and moisture are the main causes of wood furniture damage, which cause it to warp or crack. You’ll always want to quickly clean and dry any spilled liquids on wood. Make sure you’re storing your furniture in dry places unless it’s been weather treated—that means your outdoor patio may not be the best spot for your antique side table.

If you don’t want to purchase furniture sliders, there are several household items that can be used as makeshift sliders. Thick towels or blankets placed under furniture legs can reduce friction and make it easier to slide the furniture without causing damage to the floor. Additionally, plastic or paper plates can be placed under each leg for easy sliding. You can also cut up pieces of a cardboard box to slide beneath the legs of the furniture.

Yes, many professionals offer sustainable options for both materials and finishes.
