Pre-Fabricated Fireplace Unit (Gas) Installation
Anthony was spectacular. We had Top Hat out to inspect our three gas fireplaces and our chimneys. After removing the vermiculite and spent ash from the bottom of the fireplaces to clean and inspect, Anthony identified that prior to our purchase of the house the fireplaces had been improperly converted from wood to gas. One fireplace did not have a fire box, one fire box had been improperly installed and the third was made from gerry rigged materials that were not fit for purpose. One of the the black pipe connections was made without pipe dope/sealant. One fireplace had a crimped supply line. One fireplace had a 12" bar for a 24" fireplace which was intended to be a starter for a wood fire, not to be used to run a continous gas fireplace. All three posed CO2 hazards. Anthony photographed everything for us, fully explained the issues and remedied all. He was polite, thorough and efficient and fairly priced. Highly recommend Anthony and Top Hat!

We hired Anthony to install a new gas fireplace set, and for some exterior maintenance work on our chimney. Anthony’s knowledge, expertise, and professionalism really impressed us. We learned a lot about our old home from his consultation and recommendations. He’s a real nice guy, too!

Inspection Service
Anthony previously worked for a different company. He repaired our chimney cap. We had some roof issues he inspected for us, sealed a few shingles. We were charged by the company but he claimed it would cost substantially more so we needed to give him CASH to properly fix the issue. Less than one year later the issues continued and after contacting two separate roof companies we were told the vent sealing was not the problem and should have only been charged what the company would have charged. We always felt the
?Pay me cash? was sketchy and I did question that even after the job.
Upon contacting him realizing we were in fact hustled for cash he agreed to refund most of it. He did not honor the agreement and has not responded to us.

Clean and Inspect a gas fireplace
Anthony was SUPER! He was very professional, expedient, & knowledgeable. He was out and had the work done within a week! We not only needed the gas fireplace cleaned and inspected, but we also needed a hat put on our chimney AND the ventilation pipe. He gave us such a great deal, too! I would highly recommend him to everyone!

We had the pleasure of Anthony coming to our residence to help us with our problem. Not only was he extremely informative as soon as he found the problem he was able to work on it incredibly fast and he was an absolute pleasure to have working on our repairs!! He was very intelligent knew exactly what we needed done and I almost didn't want to let him leave he was such a nice person that I would definitely trust him for any other job that we would have in the future! And I will be referring him to anybody I know that would need any type of problem fixed with fireplace chimney installations anything that may come my way he will be the first person that I would call! Chimney Cleaning and Inspection
Our beautiful new (to us) home has a gorgeous chimney that had gone unused and without maintenance for about 23 years. We wanted to ensure it was both safe to use and ready to withstand autumn, winter, and festive holiday fires for years to come. After a thorough inspection we got a lot of good news. Our chimney is well built, the stone is holding up great, and it absolutely could last us a lifetime. Then we got the not as fun news…we had about 23 years worth of maintenance to catch up on. Thankfully all of it was well within our budget, thoroughly explained, detailed without being overwhelming, and he even did a deep dive all over the house just to be extra sure there wasn’t anything missing that would require another visit. (He even fixed some loose stone in an unrelated part of the house for free.) Already looking forward to my first fire in my new home. I’ll be calling Top Hat for our annual maintenance as long as we own our home.

My fireplace never looked right. And it was off centered. So when Anthony came to see it, he showed me how badly it had been installed and how potentially unsafe it was. And a fireplace is very important to me. So he performed a miracle. You can tell by the included pictures. Even the done picture doesn't do it justice. I am beyond pleased. My room has taken on a lovely warm look and feel. He was very knowledgeable and informative and professional. I would highly recommend Anthony for any fireplace needs.
