ATP was affordable, professional, and a pleasure to deal with. We needed a complete rebuild of our chimney. The major job took over a week to complete. The guys were the best! I would highly recommend this company for any related work.

We had the work done in July 2019. By February 2020, the new mortar was falling out, and the tiles were coming loose. Despite a three year guarantee, they refused to fix it. They claimed that it was damage from salt we put down over the winter. This is possible, but unlikely, as we only got a little salt on the tiles a couple of times over the whole winter when salting the nearby sidewalk.
Response from Affordable Tuckpointing Pros LLC
"We performed a lot of work for this client and our quotes state " Damages incurred from salt usage are not covered under warranty". Chris visited the property to address their concerns, and there was still salt on the areas that were coming loose. We advised the client we could fix but would have to charge a nominal service fee and they declined."

From start to finish, this company was terrific not only in the price, quality of work, and the professionalism of the crew, but also in communications. They get a straight "A" score from me. I recommend them without hesitation.

The crew arrived on time and went to work. They had previously matched our brick as close as possible, since our house is over 40 years old and the brick is no longer manufactured. The work included replacing damaged brick, tuck pointing, and resetting the caps. The crew cleaned up after themselves and did beautiful work. After they left, we remembered that we had an Angie's List coupon and the company honored the coupon and sent us back the difference. That is good customer service!

I never write reviews, but have been so impressed with my experience working with Affordable Tuckpointing Pros that I felt obliged to share. I cant speak more highly of Chris and the crew. Chris came the next day to give estimate and was able to get the work done the following day. On the day of work the guys even pointed out a smaller issue i didnt see on the parapet and gladly fixed it. Price, quality, and people were all 5 stars. Definatley give these guys a look if you need work done

The crew came on time and were knowledgeable. Scaffold was setup in the morning and work began. The concrete cap was poured but it a awhile to take down the forms on the chimney but was not a big deal.

They did a good job. They were good. They did a nice job. I don't know how to compare the price to anything else. I guess we got other offers but I wasn't involved in that. In this building, we have a condo association and I wasn't involved beyond going on Angie's List and picking one. That was my job noticing the glass blocks were breaking and finding a tuck pointer. It looks like to me that they did a good job. That is all I can say. Two people came and did the work. I think they did it in a day. They were fine and clean. They did their job.

This project went south, way south from the get go. To start, our home is about 100 years old. We were looking to repair our fireplace chimney, as well as the chimney that serviced the furnace and water heater. Chris came out to inspected the scope of work we that we wanted him to provide an estimate. When I originally contacted them via their website for a quote, I asked that both chimneys be put on separate quotes, as we were unsure that we were going to proceed with the smaller furnace chimney. This was not done. Both quotes were combined. After asking again, these quotes were listed separately on the same piece of paper. We asked three different companies for bids, and the quote from Affordable was the highest, but we liked the services that they were going to provide. We also opted to only have the main fireplace chimney work completed, as we decided that we were going to eventually tear down the other chimney when we replaced the hot water heater (it was no longer servicing the furnace). The next process was to choose a brick that would look best on our home. As expected, with a 100 year-old home, it was difficult to match the existing brick. We finally chose one, and was told a few days later by Gina in the office that we would need to pay an additional $400 as this was a more expensive brick. That wasn't in the contract, so I told them not going to happen. Our contract stated they would use a brick of my choice, and that brick was the best option. I was then told that it would take approximately two weeks to get the bricks in stock. After 3-1/2 weeks, I contacted Gina, as we were closing in on the end of the season. I asked her if she could somehow push them to get this item delivered. I also told her that if the repairs didn't take place during the fall, then we were requesting our deposit to be returned, and would reconsider their proposal in the spring. Bricks became available, and project was scheduled. Well here is where the real fun begins. They knocked down and rebuilt the wrong chimney. I received a phone message at my work the next morning from Gina asking if I wanted both to be done, to which I stated no, and I wasn't responsible for payment of this item as the contract I signed only was for the one item. The next problem was with the bricks. They used the bricks for our fireplace chimney on the other chimney. There were only around 12 bricks remaining (which I can't understand how this would have worked with the other chimney, as it was a much larger project). They told me that this was not an issue, as they could get more. I found this to be untrue, as a worker told me that they didn't have any more of the bricks that I had ordered. Again, how were they planning on finishing my original chimney? The next day a new crew came out to continue work. However, that day nothing was completed. I received a call from Gina who stated they inspected my chimney, and all but twelve bricks (coincidence) were good, and they wanted to reuse my old bricks. I found this confusing, as I spoke to Chris about our project when he came out and did the original estimate. At that time, he stated that we had a lot of bricks on our chimney that were cracked and damaged by water leaking into our fireplace, and that our chimney was in dire need of these repairs. The next day I spoke with Aaron who explained what he wanted to do, and that he would only use bricks that were in good shape. He told me that this was done frequently for historical preservation jobs. He told me that he would have the other member of his crew hand remove the mortar, and carefully inspect the bricks prior to use. I also spoke to Chris on the phone who reiterated the same. We agreed to continue the project. Prior to starting outside that day, Aaron wanted to see the inside of the fireplace, as I told him we were unable to have a fire, as the smoke billowed back into our home. He looked at everything and determined that it was because our dampers were installed incorrectly (by another company), and proceeded to cut the wires to those dampers without checking with me first. After the crew left for the day, I inspected their work, and contacted Gina in the office. In my conversation to her, I noted that I thought that the spacing between the bricks seemed too large, approximately two inches between each brick, and there was an awful amount of mortar being used. The next day a new crew came out. They tore down what was completed the previous day, and started over. This crew however, did not hand remove the mortar. Instead they used a saw, cutting it off. This created an overwhelming amount of dust. According to our permit, this should have been completed in a tented area to limit the dust. I also noted that they were using bricks that were broken in the project. I asked one of the crew members about this, and he insisted that they were only using the good bricks. If this was the case, why was he cleaning them off? Another item that I felt was extremely unprofessional, one of the workers came into my home, unannounced (I was working from home, and on a conference call at that time). I have three dogs, and I had to run and grab one of the dogs so she wouldn't bite him. He stated that he needed to use the restroom. I locked the door after that, as I didn't want to take a chance of my dog biting him if he tried to walk unannounced into the house again. The next item was totally unacceptable. When the crew was replacing and installing the tiles in the middle of the chimney, they needed to mortar them together. This mortar came pouring down into my home, onto my hardwood floors, fireplace grate, fireplace screen, just missing my area rug. I ran outside to tell them to stop, to which they replied "didn't anyone close off the firebox?". No one had completed this step. If I hadn't been home, this would have ruined my floors, rug, etc. I was originally told that I did not need to be home for these repairs...glad I was. They also put in new dampers. I was told by the office that dampers the newer dampers were more efficient, and Chris had stated that they would charge me cost for these which was great. He also noted that they normally charge around $650 for installation, but he would waive that charge for me. Hello...your guy was the one who took them out, cutting the wires, and removing the brackets! And, isn't this part of the job? It took almost seven days for a job we were told would take 2-3 days. The crew on the fireplace chimney cleaned up the site. They left some items that we needed to clean up, including our windows that had mortar on them, and my rose trellis which was covered in mortar, and which I think is ruined. We still picked up a lot of debris, but were glad the job was over. However, the crew that did the other chimney left us a real mess. No one on the fireplace chimney project had bothered to check or clean up that mess. Bricks on the roof, debris on the side of my house. Mortar on my fir tree, windows, and back patio. Cement in our gutters. All things that we cleaned up. Contacted Gina again. Chris came out. Not sure why, as we were all done. Nice guy. Very concerned about his client and business. However, this job was a nightmare for us. We have had other projects in our home, and have never had to deal with problems on any of them. I feel bad about giving this review, as stated Chris, and his crew were nice, but this project was a nightmare for us. I actually worked from home during the time frame that this job was taking place. Can't imagine what we would have ended up with had someone not been home.

The company I did go with, I want to give them stars all over the place to, is Affordable Tuckpointing. As many stars that I could possibly give, fabulous! The owner Christopher, was extremely thorough and he made notes to himself on his phone, he took pictures, and I had an estimate before he left the property and his was less than a third and the best job. The people, the women that works in his office are amazing, Nancy and Gina, I dealt with them the most. Chris is wonderful. They were fabulous. 5 stars, 10 stars, as many stars that I could possibly give.
