"Nick and his crew are awesome! I can't recommend these guys enough. The guys worked very hard and are very professional. Nick met with us multiple times to lay out exactly what we wanted. We have had a lot of work down on our house, so we are familiar with how companies get things done. Nick was by far the best at setting and meeting our expectations. It seems to me that getting the work done is easy, but what is not easy is communication between customers, sales, and the crew. That is where Modern Landscape shines. ALL questions/emails were answered promptly, and communication to his guys was obviously very good, nothing was missed. We asked for quite a bit of extra work to be done that was not on the original bid, and that was never a problem. If any problems came up, Nick dealt with them quickly. There is good reason why these guys are the best. Thanks guys! We could not be happier with our new back yard!!!"

"AOTC did a great job putting in a 'fairy garden' on the north side of my house. From my first meeting with Kam to the final product (finished up very late - thank you Camden!) I am highly pleased and got exactly what I wanted. Kam saw my vision immediately, and he, Kai and Camden put in stepping stones, a flagstone patio, and beautiful plants to create a rustic retreat from the urban heat. I can highly recommend this company, and will definitely call them again for my next landscaping project. Communication once the job started was excellent, the team worked very hard, were pleasant and professional, high attention to detail and a very fair price."

"We had a challengingly steep slope at the back of our property that needed weed removal, grading , replanting, sprinkler replacement, stone retaining wall repair and fortification. Gary was a knowledgeable problem solver and worked alongside his crew to make sure everything was done properly. He said what they would do and they did what they said! I highly recommend the company. Lani P. Hidden Springs, Id"

"Very professional and did an excellent job. Stuart was great. I had to replace a hallway ceiling light and he showed me a recessed light he had with him which was nice so I went with that light. He also recommended that I replace the second hallway light and as it turned out it did need to be replaced. Older home with old lights. He even went to Home Depot to get the second light! I definitely will hire them again for any future electrical needs. Highly recommend!!"

"Our wing fences had blown over during a storm. They came out right away and gave us a quote. They removed the old rotten fence and built a new cedar fence with metal posts. They did a very good job and we would be happy to use them again."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Combining masonry work with other home upgrades is often efficient in Boise. Coordinating projects like landscaping, irrigation installation, or outdoor lighting with masonry improvements can reduce disruption and streamline your timeline. Many Boise homeowners also add patio covers or fire features for year-round outdoor use. Bundling these upgrades with a single contractor can lead to a more cohesive design and potential savings on labor and materials.

Helpful?

In Boise, repairing masonry is usually more cost-effective when issues are limited to minor cracks or mortar deterioration, especially in structures under 30 years old. However, if there’s extensive freeze damage, shifting from soil, or compromised structural integrity, replacement may be necessary. Boise’s soil conditions and climate can accelerate wear, so a professional assessment is important to determine the best long-term solution for your property.

Helpful?

Completing masonry work in Boise can significantly enhance your home’s value and resale appeal. Brick or stone exteriors often boost curb appeal and attract buyers seeking durability and low maintenance. Outdoor living features like patios and fire pits are especially popular in Boise, where outdoor entertaining is valued. Quality masonry also improves energy efficiency, helping homes stand out and sell faster in Boise’s competitive real estate market.

Helpful?

Masonry work in Boise requires regular upkeep due to the region’s freeze-thaw cycles and mineral-rich water. Inspect mortar joints annually for cracks or gaps, reseal joints as needed, and check horizontal surfaces after snow melts. Remove efflorescence promptly to prevent staining, repoint mortar every 15-25 years, and apply waterproofing every few years. These steps help protect masonry from Boise’s temperature swings and moisture exposure.

Helpful?

In Boise, most masonry work is scheduled from late spring through early fall, typically May to October. Warmer temperatures above 40°F allow mortar to cure properly, while Boise’s dry summer weather minimizes moisture-related delays. Contractors are busiest between April and September, so planning ahead is wise. Scheduling masonry projects during these months helps ensure long-lasting results and avoids complications from winter weather.
