"Wyatt Watts Construction! Wyatt has a very strong work ethic. He shows up on time! He keeps his construction sight clean as he works. He only charges for the hours he works or sticks to the quote he gave us. He made sure we were happy with his craftsmanship. We were so pleased with his work, we trusted him enough to referred him to our Real Estate clients and they were thrilled with his work. He moved to Coeur de Alene and these clientsâ  family is begging him to come back to boise to do a job for them! "We recently had all of our red oak hardwood floors refinished by Chuck Pierce the owner of Great Expectations Flooring. Chucks attention to detail both in his craftsmanship and understanding of what we were looking for was flawless. Upon completion we were stunned at how beautiful our floors looked. We had hired another company to refinish our floors 4 weeks earlier who did such a horrible job refinishing and staining that we had no other choice but to start all over. So, Chuck took on a difficult job. Our floors are beautiful now and he exceeded our expectations."

"New to us house, complete rip out and install new wood floors. Helped us finding quality flooring at low price. Work was completed while we were living in the home and patiently waited for us to free up areas to be worked. Seen other work they did on a larger scale holding costs down but providing quality, large scale work to include ripout, install, sanding, staining, sanding, initial coats and final coats. Highly recommend."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

When hiring a flooring contractor in Boise, prioritize those with experience handling local soil conditions and climate-related challenges. Ask for references from recent Boise flooring projects and confirm they carry proper insurance. A knowledgeable pro will understand material acclimation needs and have established relationships with local suppliers. Be cautious of unsolicited offers or unusually low bids, as these can signal a lack of regional expertise or quality.

Helpful?

Boise flooring benefits from seasonal maintenance. In winter, use a humidifier to prevent hardwood shrinkage and promptly clean up de-icing salts. Spring is ideal for deep cleaning and inspecting for moisture damage. During hot summers, protect floors from sunlight and monitor for expansion. Fall is the time to check humidity levels before heating season. Regular grout sealing and carpet cleaning help extend the life of your flooring.

Helpful?

Combining flooring installation with upgrades like radiant heating, electrical updates, or ductwork can minimize disruption in Boise homes. Pairing flooring with insulation or basement waterproofing improves energy efficiency and moisture control. Scheduling bundled projects in spring or fall often helps with contractor availability. Always complete major plumbing or structural work before installing new floors to protect your investment and avoid unnecessary rework.

Helpful?

In Boise, homeowners often skip acclimating hardwood flooring to the region’s dry winters and moderate summers, which can cause warping or gaps. Overlooking moisture barriers is a frequent issue, especially with Boise’s clay-heavy soil that can trap moisture under floors. Inadequate subfloor leveling, installing during the damp spring, and choosing non-waterproof flooring for basements are also common, avoidable pitfalls in local flooring installation projects.

Helpful?

Boise homeowners should factor in seismic activity, wildfire smoke, and fluctuating air quality when selecting flooring materials. Geothermal heating systems and high water tables in certain neighborhoods can impact choices, especially for basement flooring installation. Historic districts may have specific flooring guidelines, while newer communities often enforce noise standards. Also, contractor demand and material availability peak in spring and summer, so plan your project timeline accordingly.
