No delays or excuses. • Quality: The workmanship was clean and professional, exactly what you want on a commercial build. • Communication: They kept me informed throughout the project and explained every step. • Professionalism: Straightforward, easy to deal with, and clearly take pride in their work. I highly recommend Diffused Electrical for any electrical work on food trailers, food trucks, or commercial projects. Great company and great people."

"1776 Electrical did an excellent job. The bid was reasonable and they gave me options for materials and lights. They keep updated in their field and suggested upgrades to our lights that will save us money and time. They completed the job quickly and worked cleanly. We enjoyed having them in the house. "I have used the services of CES for several electrical needs Iâ ve had. I have always felt he was fair, honest and professional. One area that means a lot to me is that Charlie takes the time to explain what needs to be done so that even I can understand. One of the services CES has performed for me was to run electricity and tv wiring to my flat screen wall mounted tv so that no visible wires are showing. My wife was very impressed by what a nice job he did. Recently when I installed a mini-split unit in our second home in Cascade, CES did all electrical work that was needed to get the unit up and running. To say that I am a happy customer is an understatement. To find someone these days who has his work ethic, skill and honesty is a very rare thing. I recommend this company whatever electric needs you have."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Boise, most residential electrical projects require an electrical permit issued by the Boise City Planning and Development Services. Simple tasks like replacing outlets may not need a permit, but new wiring, panel upgrades, or service changes do. Homeowners can apply if they occupy the home, but larger or commercial jobs require a licensed contractor. Always consult the Boise City Code or the Idaho Division of Building Safety for project-specific requirements.

Helpful?

After electrical work in Boise, schedule periodic inspections, especially after major upgrades, as recommended by the Boise City Planning and Development Services. Test GFCI and AFCI outlets monthly, and check for signs of overheating or corrosion in your panel. Keep access to your electrical panel clear for emergency responders, and promptly address any flickering lights or frequent breaker trips to maintain safety and code compliance.

Helpful?

For Boise homes, use copper wiring for durability and compliance with local codes, and select THHN or THWN wire types for versatility in both indoor and outdoor applications. Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas as required by Boise City Code. Choose weather-resistant enclosures for exterior work, and always verify materials meet standards set by the Idaho Division of Building Safety.

Helpful?

In Boise, common mistakes include skipping required permits, using incorrect wire gauges, and failing to install GFCI outlets in wet areas as mandated by local code. Covering junction boxes or improper grounding can create serious hazards. According to the Boise City Planning and Development Services, always follow local codes, use approved materials, and consult a licensed electrician for unfamiliar or complex tasks to avoid costly errors.

Helpful?

DIY electrical work in Boise can save money on labor, but risks include code violations, safety hazards, and failed inspections. Boise requires permits and inspections for most electrical projects, and mistakes may void your homeowner's insurance. Hiring a licensed local electrician ensures compliance with Boise City Code and Idaho regulations, increases safety, and streamlines the inspection process—especially for complex or high-voltage work.
