Customers say: True professional

"The owner was able to fit me into his schedule and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Within two hours he had the hill leveled out throughout my yard and even smoothed everything down by hand afterwards. Definitely would hire again for any future excavation and/or grading work."

"Was very friendly and prompt but left a mess for us to clean up. My husband is not happy as felt he did not care about cleaning the area and where are dogs are buried some of the bricks all moved! Just was disappointed that a landscape company can be unkept!"

"Planted a tree and several shrubs/plants and spread additional rock + put in a watering system for the maintenance of the improvements. Had Green & Trim do wall to wall pavers in the backyard a couple years ago and still get many compliments on the look and the quality of the work. We are completely satisfied with Daryl and his crew and recommend his company to you for any outside improvements or services."

"Did a recessed patio surrounded by block retaining wall. The guys did an excellent job ground was much harder than they expected. Took 4+ days just for excavation. Final product was just what I imagined. Price went up from quote, but I expected that Still very good value. Workers where nice enough to move my oversized grill down to new lower level. If needed I would definitely use them again ..."

"Jerry Finney and his team were amazing to work with. I have never had a home renovation project go so smoothly. Jerry was great at keeping us updated on the progress, gave us realistic timelines and his team showed up everyday as promised. They were kind, professional and respectful. The cleanup was perfect and each piece of the project went smoothly. I couldnâ t be more thrilled. We had our pool filled in and turf added to the backyard, our rock in the yard was refreshed and we had new gates added to our yard. We will be spending a lot of time enjoying our low maintenance backyard. A HUGE thank you to Jerry and his team for a job well done. I would highly recommend AZ Home Services, you wonâ t be disappointed."

"Excellent work on removing a large acacia tree including stump removal. They also planted two new trees and installed the water system. New trees are thriving. It’s been three years. The crew completed the jobs in a half day and were very tidy. A little high on price, but worth it."

"I hired them to add travertine patio, sidewalks and turf to my backyard and move irrigation lines. They did a great job. very professional and I didn't have to micromanage. They were always a step ahead. One crew did the tear out, laid irrigation lines and came back to clean up, a crew to lay travertine and a crew to lay the turf. Supervisor oversaw project and designer came out to give me a design. I would hire them again in a minute! Great experience!"

Small jobs welcome

"We hired this company to excavate our empty lot in Laveen to install empty conduits and properly grade the property. They did an excellent job from start to finish. The crew was professional, punctual, and very knowledgeable about the excavation process. They completed the trenching for the conduits efficiently and made sure everything was placed correctly. The grading was done with great attention to detail, leaving the property level and ready for the next phase of construction. Communication was clear throughout the project, and they kept the job site clean and organized. I truly appreciate their hard work and would highly recommend them to anyone needing excavation or grading services."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

After you successfully remove your boulder, you have a few options for what to do to get rid of it. You can rent a dumpster if your yard has many boulders or if you’re planning a larger project. You can even save the boulder and reuse it elsewhere on your property to save on landscaping costs. A few ideas include using the boulder as a natural, abstract statue, breaking it into smaller pieces to line your garden bed, or offering it to a landscaping company that could reuse it for another project.

Dumpsters work best on hard, study, and level surfaces made of asphalt, stone, or concrete. If the surface is uneven or too soft, the dumpster could get stuck or tip over when filled. Keep in mind that you must obtain a dumpster permit to keep it on a city street in many areas.

Excavation is priced in cubic yards, so you’ll need to find the volume of the area in order to calculate costs. Multiply the length, width, and proposed depth of your excavation site, then convert it into yards to get the volume. Multiply this figure by the price per cubic yard.

Most homeowners can measure by hand to get a rough estimate, even if it’s tedious. You may want to pull out a tape measure or use a string to help mark the area.

No, fire blight does not survive free in the soil but instead is carried through insects, animals, rain, or wind during the spring. Keep in mind that it can also spread on tools, which is why you should always disinfect them in between cuts.

Downspouts should be buried at least 5 to 10 feet away from your foundation. This can vary depending on your local building codes, soil type, and property slope. The main goal is to ensure water is directed away from your foundation.
