Blue Horizon Excavating & Grading

Jim was helpful, professional and quick. He coached us through how to prep for the job (removing a disconnected propane tank) and after he was through you couldn't even tell there had ever been a tank there. I would definitely use his services again.

We hired Jim to fill in our pool and remove a bunch of concrete from our backyard. He is very knowledgeable, professional, punctual, and price competitive. We are happy with the result and would definitely hire him again.

The work was done thoroughly and Jim did the extra of making sure things in the yard were not damaged. He did a great job of getting our yard graded to eliminate water issues we had from torrential rain storms. He listens and explains what he needs to do. I had to move some landscaping rock so he could drive his Bobcat through the front yard. He cleaned up at the end of the work.

This entire experience was excellent. Jim with Blue Horizon was prompt, professional, and listened to what I wanted. He clearly explained what was involved to accomplish the work I wanted done, and discussed potential problems so we were able to plan in advance in case there there were complications. The job was estimated for two full days, but he finished by noon on the second day. He was able to remove the slab without damaging the remaining patio, my house or the curved sitting wall that I wanted to keep. After completion, he did an excellent job of cleaning up. I am extremely pleased with the work and I would definitely hire again.

The owner was able to fit me into his schedule and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Within two hours he had the hill leveled out throughout my yard and even smoothed everything down by hand afterwards. Definitely would hire again for any future excavation and/or grading work.

The project went better than expected. Jim, the owner/operator, did the entire job by himself. The project took 2 weeks. The swimming pool was in our backyard with narrow access from the front of the house. He used a mini bobcat to do all the work and was able to maneuver his bobcat between the gate, wall and AC unit. Jim worked with our strict HOA rules and kept his work hours in-line with the city guide lines. He was very nice, professional, polite, kind and performed all the work as agreed upon. We would hire him again and recommend him for a similar job.

Excellent--Jim was thorough and knew what he was doing. I would definitely go to him again. Great to have the right person for a job. In addition to pond removal he graded my property to get it ready for pavers and fake grass and removed tree roots and loads of rocks. He has the right equipment for the job at hand.

The cutting and removal was done quickly and exactly the way we wanted it done. It was a tricky cut but it was done perfectly. I would hire them again because they were on time and made sure there were no surprises.

Jim was great at communicating prior to and during the job to make certain of what was expected by us.  He worked efficiently despite the extremely tight area he had to work in without scratching the home or nearby wall.  He graded the remaining area to keep water away from the home and made certain there were no tripping hazards.  Prior to leaving the job site, he had me do a walk-through to make certain I was satisfied with everything.  He hauled off a considerable amount of concrete and left the area neat and clean.  Highly recommend.

The process was great.  Jim communicated his intentions, drafted a contract stating what was expected.  Told me when he would be at the farm and what times he left.  He worked hard and put in some very long hours.  During the project some tasks changed and he was very cooperative in doing the changes.  He worked hard to minimize the cost of removing the concrete that was pull out of the arena from old posts.  Overall very pleased with the work.

arrived when he said he would be here, pulled up old concrete slab with as little disruption to yard cleanly cut small area that was holding pool gate leveled all dirt area, including pulling out the weeds! :) hauled away old concrete finished sooner than I expected gave good suggestions for future work to be done, referred several companies that would help complete project. I was very pleased with the work that was done. Jim worked hard to get the job done well and in a timely fashion. I would recommend his services to my friends.

I had an unusual excavation job, the excavation/clearing out of a wash that runs under my suspended living room.  I doubt it has ever been cleaned out since 1966 when the house was built.  The threat of El Nino rains this coming rainy season prompted the project.  The job was unusual because no machine could reasonably fit in the project area...it was largely hand work with Bobcat assisting and the project took longer than expected.  Jim was able to coordinate the job.  His own skills at the Bobcat were great, steering clear of all expensive landscaping.  He was exceptionally pleasant to work with and he takes pride in his work.  Prices were thoroughly reasonable.  I'd hire Blue Horizon again in a second.

Great job.  He had to remove it without large equipment since access to our backyard was limited.  Was efficient and did a wonderful job cleaning up the area afterwards.  Would use again.

This was a major problem and Blue Horizon promptly solved it, walking us through the process of dealing with the irrigation service, staying in touch with us to make sure he came on a day when it hadn't recently rained near our property (to avoid damaging the yard with heavy equipment), and cleaning up everything so our yard looked nicer when he was done than when he started.  He was extremely professional, left us extra dirt to make any patches or repairs we might need as the berms settled.  Excellent service for a fair price.

Jim, was very easy to deal with.  He showed up when he said he would, he did over and above what I expected.  He was very careful with the bobcat in the tight space provided and did a great job for us.  Additionally, we had an area that needed to be hand sawed to avoid breakage of our foundation.  He pointed that out to us.  He he is very thorough and knows what he is doing.  His prices were very reasonable and I would definitely recommend him.

I will never call anyone else when excavation or grading is required.  Jim does excellent work and is very thorough and the work area was clean when the work was completed. 
We had three 24 inch  square by 8 foot high columns removed, approximately 50 feet of block wall and foundation, and sidewalk.  All work was completed as promised.  Jim will be back to complete the final grade next week.  He makes project easy!

Jim arrived when he said he would. He did excellent work and helped me locate a problem that I was having with a sprinkler line. I felt that I got great service for the money that he charged. I plan to have additional excavation done in the future, and will definitely call Blue Horizon for the work. I recommend them highly.
