"Without question, Bolt Electric is the go-to electrician to call for residential electric issues. Within five minutes of using Angie's List to find an electrician to diagnose and fix a problem with my landscape lighting, Bolt Electric called me and scheduled an appointment within three business days. It's certain if the issue had been urgent, Bolt would have sent someone immediately. From start to finish, Bolt's people were extremely customer focused. Stephanie returned the call, scheduled the appointment, and called 45 minutes before the electrician arrived to let me know he was on his way. Sam, the electrician who performed the work, was incredible. Professional, knew his stuff, and, amazingly, diagnosed and repaired the problem -- which was a defect in an underground connector -- within five minutes. Yes, five minutes!!!! When was the last time you had an electrician or any professional service tradesman diagnose and correct a problem within five minutes?! Bolt receives my highest recommendation. If you are in need of a very customer focused, incredibly capable electrician, Bolt Electric is the one to call."

"First visit this year, electrician found and isolated portion of the circuit that was causing the problem, plus installed two exterior light fixtures at main entrance door. Second visit Installed GFCI's required to bring home up to code for resale and installed two exterior motion sensitive light fixtures. All completed at a reasonable as quoted price in minimum time. Technician extremely competent as well as personable. If I have other electrical needs, I will call on Mr Electric"

"Great response time and very professional! I had a nasty bout with a swarm of ants that kept tripping an outlet outside that powered my internet fiber-optics box. It tripped so many times that finally the reset button was no longer curing the issue. Brenton came out to look at it and quickly confirmed the outlet was in fact working and no repairs were required. I have been looking for a company I can keep on file for electrical work and now I have one. Will refer to family and friends for sure."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

After completing electrical projects in Mesa, schedule annual inspections with a licensed electrician to check panels, breakers, and safety outlets, as recommended by the City of Mesa Building Safety Division. Consider installing a whole-house surge protector to guard against power surges during summer storms. Regular maintenance and prompt repairs help keep your electrical system safe, efficient, and compliant with Mesa's local regulations.

Helpful?

In Mesa, DIY electrical repairs may save money but risk code violations and safety hazards if not done correctly. Hiring a licensed electrician, as required by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, ensures compliance with local codes, proper permitting, and reliable results. For complex projects like panel upgrades or rewiring, professional expertise helps avoid costly mistakes and ensures your home meets Mesa's safety standards.

Helpful?

Mesa's extreme summer heat and monsoon storms can stress electrical systems, increasing the risk of panel overloads and surge damage. The City of Mesa Building Safety Division recommends using weather-rated enclosures for outdoor equipment and scheduling major electrical projects during cooler months. Proactive planning and climate-appropriate materials help Mesa homeowners prevent outages and extend the lifespan of their electrical systems.

Helpful?

In Mesa, most electrical projects require a permit from the City of Mesa Building Safety Division. Minor repairs may qualify for a web-issued permit, while panel upgrades or new circuits often need technical permits and plan review. Always check with the City of Mesa Building Safety Division to confirm requirements, as unpermitted work can result in fines or delays during inspections and may impact home insurance coverage.

Helpful?

For electrical projects in Mesa, choose wiring and panels rated for high temperatures, such as THHN wire, which withstands the city's heat. AFCI and GFCI breakers are recommended for added safety, especially in older homes. Purchase materials from reputable local electrical supply stores to ensure compliance with Mesa's codes, as advised by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and the City of Mesa Building Safety Division.
