Customers say: True professional

"I had an unusual excavation job, the excavation/clearing out of a wash that runs under my suspended living room.  I doubt it has ever been cleaned out since 1966 when the house was built.  The threat of El Nino rains this coming rainy season prompted the project.  The job was unusual because no machine could reasonably fit in the project area...it was largely hand work with Bobcat assisting and the project took longer than expected.  Jim was able to coordinate the job.  His own skills at the Bobcat were great, steering clear of all expensive landscaping.  He was exceptionally pleasant to work with and he takes pride in his work.  Prices were thoroughly reasonable.  I'd hire Blue Horizon again in a second.

"Alpha Construction was top-notch! Not only did they consistently show up on time, but they finished the project early and were willing to reschedule the final walkthrough multiple times to accommodate our schedule. They graded an area in my yard and spread rock for RV parking. They had nice equipment and were very clean so they weren't a nuisance to my neighbors. The final product turned out great!""

"I have worked with many contractors over the years and H-Bros Excavating is by far the best experience I have ever had. They showed up when they said they would to provide an estimate. They started the job at the time they said they would. They kept me informed of the progress, what was going to be needed, each next step, and met the completion time they projected. When they were almost done, I found that I had not communicated exactly what I needed and it wasn't done quite the way I had intended. After I was clear on what it was I wanted, without a blink, sour word, or any frustration, they simply went to work to give me what I wanted. The entire mistake was mine for not being clear and yet they were happy to fix what was almost done. All of this and the final bill was exactly what I had been originally quoted. You will not fine a more professional or personable company anywhere. Their attention to detail and desire to provide me with what I wanted is unparalled. I will use them again and I will recommend them to anyone needed an excavating company. You will not be disappointed. Dan"

"This is the second job that Paul White has done for us.  He has completed electric wiring for our laundry room and ran a wire for a future 220 outlet.

This time, I called Paul to finish running the 220 outlet because I have now purchased a wall air conditioner and it was getting hot outside.  Even though they had a truck problem, Paul contacted us and re-scheduled another time which was okay with us.  The crew came on Labor Day weekend and ran the wiring to our Arizona Room and installed a 220 outlet.

Paul and crew measured and cut a hole in the wall for installation of the new AC unit.  Everything was done exact and with precision.  They secured the AC unit and caulked it in place.  They were here 5 hours.  Paul and his crew were friendly and efficient.

Even though we had to wrap up the wire for the AC unit and put all the patio furniture back and vacuum up the dust, we thought they did a fantastic job!   We would hire them again.

"Such a great company! Ravi was so professional, kind, always there to help organize. His crew, lead by Carlos included such happy, skilled, hardworking men. On time everyday ( even my neighbors noticed). They excavated old concrete& cement pavers. Installed with great craftsmanship pavers on sidewalk, edges of driveway. Did extra things to make it all perfect. I hit the jackpot finding this company. Highly recommend!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The average cost for pool excavation is $2,500. This cost can range from $450 to $4,500, depending on the pool shape and size, time of year, and any need to move buried utilities.

When excavating for your pool, you might have to move existing utilities. You can expect to pay an additional $15 to $25 per linear foot to move gas lines. To move a septic system, it’ll cost an additional $2,000 to $20,000. A pool that is 10 feet by 12 feet averages $450 to excavate, and a 20-foot-by-40-foot pool averages $3,020.

Maintain open communication and address issues as they arise, ensuring contract terms cover potential delays.

Yes, you can install a trench drain if you already have concrete in your yard or garden. While it can complicate some aspects of the job and slightly run up the cost, it is doable. Residential trench drains can be easily retrofitted to outdoor areas with concrete without having to remove excessive amounts of your patio, pool area, or decorative walkways.

Most professional excavation teams will charge between $8 and $15 per cubic yard. Calculate the cost by finding the volume of your pool—width x length x depth—and dividing it by 27. Then, multiply the price by the cubic yards from your equation. Budget for complications like a rocky lawn, hard-to-access pool area, or high local labor prices.

After you successfully remove your boulder, you have a few options for what to do to get rid of it. You can rent a dumpster if your yard has many boulders or if you’re planning a larger project. You can even save the boulder and reuse it elsewhere on your property to save on landscaping costs. A few ideas include using the boulder as a natural, abstract statue, breaking it into smaller pieces to line your garden bed, or offering it to a landscaping company that could reuse it for another project.
